Should I get the Remington Tac1 Airsoft Shotgun or should I get the S&W M3000?
I am looking at getting a cheaper airsoft shotgun and I am wondering which gun I should get? Thanks for your help!

I am a newbie when it comes to shotguns and after much reasearch I decided to go with a Mossberg Mav 88 with the 18.5 in barrel. I would like to know what sights are best for home defense. I have heard ghost ring sights, some say stick with the bead sight, I just thought I would ask and get some opinions. Thanks for your time
I did purchase a butt cuff and a 5 pack of 2 3/4 00 buckshot. That seemed to be the popular consensus from what I read. ![]()
StormGal or anyone else, where could I get a tritium front bead for my maverick 88?

The semi auto shotgun is imported from china and was distributed by century arms, I only have one 5 round magazine and would like more, I also want a pistol grip stock that fits it.

I brought this semi atuo .22 cal riffle a few weeks back because of it weight and value. It even came with a scope. So far I been practicing and the barrel isnt too long so it is manueverable to protect the safe room. I need some opinions here though about it. You could compare and contrast it to a shotgun or pistol of you all want.

Oops, sorry for posting this help article twice. I accidentally deleted this one instead of the one I meant to get rid of lol. So, here it is again for those of you that didn’t have a chance to read it the first time around
Here is a cool little article about the different loads you can use for home defense and the pros and cons of each.
Just figured I’d help out those of you not sure about what to load your home protection shotguns with.
Enjoy!
This is a link for the shotgun loads for personal defense:

And this is the link to the page it came from, its mainly to do with personal defense loadings for different types of firearms. Now you will know exactly what works the best in each of your personal defense firearms!

Eferrel, you have to take into consideration that these #’s more than likely came from ballistics gel testing. Now 5" of penatration on the gel is probably only equal to about 1" or 2" on a human torso due to the heavy bones that cover the heart and lung area ( rib cage)
Also they weren’t talking about something to kill someone a couple minutes later, they wanted absolute drop in your tracks stopping power, which I would consider to be about 3" through the rib cage.

Pistols range from average handgun to best of handguns.
Rifles, and shotguns range from mostly new, to slightly used.

Thanks to everyone so far, I’m looking for a bird hunting gun (to be used 200 rounds a year), I currently have an 870 for duck hunting and an old Fox side by side that I use dove hunting, just looking for something a little nicer?

I have an UTG M87 tactical and it shoots about 330 (obviously a spring). Is there any way to increase the FPS and accuracy?

I have found that all shorter barreled shotguns or "coach guns" that i like do not have automatic ejectors. Ive looked at stoeger and a few others. Im sure all the guns ive seen leave off ejectors because cowboy action shooting prohibits ejectors. I am not a cowboy action shooter and probably never will be. I would really like a nice short barreled double gun with extractors because the extractors make reloading so much easier. Any information on where to find a gun like im looking for would be much appreciated.
I am looking for a reasonably priced factory produced gun. Thanks for the suggestion though, a custom gun would solve my problem, i just dont have the money for that.
I live in Kentucky USA if that makes a difference to anyone.
I honestly didnt think anyone made them. Thats why i figured id give it a shot on here. All the short barreled double guns are obviously marketed towards cowboy action shooters. The only reasonable solution i can think of is to buy a longer barreled double gun with ejectors and haave a gunsmith cut the barrel to 18". I may just buy one without ejectors and deal with it.

We live in a free country don’t we? So why force me to do something I don’t want to do?
If you are okay with the government forcing you to buy health insurance, then will you be okay if a future Conservative government forces you to buy a shotgun? And force you to pay for classes on how to use a shotgun? It could be justified as a form of national defense. Other countries do it? So what say you.

The Mossberg is 145 dollars cheaper and it shoots 3.5" while Remington is 3"
Mossberg=6 capacity
Remington=5 capacity
Mossberg is camo
Remington is not
Mossberg shotgun barrel is 1" longer than Remingtons
Mossberg slug barrel is 7" longer than the remingtons 21"!!!
I like Remington but I dont understand why its more expensive and the gun is’nt as powerful and barrels are shorter and its not even camo. Also less capacity… What do you guys think…I just hope wal mart can order this for me…

Usually I would go to Walmart but they now have this dumb rule, 6 boxes per costumer. So I need to know of a good place to buy ammo. I have looked at Dicks Sporting Goods but they dont stock ammo anymore. I have a 12 gauge shotgun and am looking to buy hi brass loads and 7 1/2 game loads. Thanks in Advance!

I’m looking to by a gun for home defense purposes, and am also looking to possibly start a gun collection.
I have been looking at the Mossberg 500 (the cruiser and the tactical). But I am interested in the Benelli M4 semi-auto shotgun.
I feel like the Benelli would be over kill when it comes to home defense, but would be an interesting part of a gun collection.
The downside is that the Benelli is about three times as expensive as the Mossberg.
Which would you recommend?

So far this is your typical Gears of War 2 multiplayer match: everyone rushes to the power weapons (most notably the boomshot), and spams smoke grenades in every direction. Once the majority of both teams has fallen to the ground, there’s usually a couple people standing to run through with their shotgun and kill everyone while they’re getting up. Of course from here there’s usually one team that has 4 players and the other team has about 2. At this point, everyone without a power weapon in their hands is using that stupid 2 piece tactic. Generally, the game turns out to be a cat and mouse chase when only 1 player is left. At this point, if their are frag grenades on the map, this player will just sit where they spawn and plant them on every floor and wall imaginable, which is definitely making the match longer than it needs to be, seeing as he will usually die anyway. One question: is there a way Epic can make Gears of War 2 a tactical game like they intended it to be?

Notice how the Marine in Doom doesn’t have a name? I think I finally figured out who he is. He loves that shotgun and blasting the Baron’s of Hell with it!

I’m going to buy a Mossberg Maverick Shotgun from Academy Sports and don’t know what gauge would be best to buy. I intend to own the weapon for personal protection and for nothing else.
