The "best" gun is totally up to you the hunter. Take suggestions from posters on here (including myself) everyone is going to have their personal "best" shotgun. the best thing you can do is try them out. find what you are comfortable with and go from there.
My personal favorite shot gun is a Stevens model 311 side by side 12 gage. I love that gun. There are plenty of them out there they made a bunch of them. Some others might be a browning O/U a Mossburg 500, or a Remington 870. The choice is yours my friend.

The best shotgun for Hunting is a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500…..
Yeah Yeah Yeah all these folks are going to tell you about $1000 italian shotguns but pay no mind… They do not shoot any better than a well made American pump shotgun…….
Remington 870….. Product line up….

Remington 870 express….. This is the most common 870 with millions served….

12 gauge pump action any brand they are all fairly good. Carry a reliable side arm with you as back up.I shoot primarily Bow & Arrow but carry a 44 python semi auto as a back up, have had to use it a time or two.

porters…….once again….what the HELL is a 44 Python semi-auto? No such firearm exists. For Christ’s sake, if you’re going to BS on here, at LEAST use a little intelligence and say you carry a firearm that exists.
For your information, the Python is a .357 magnum. NOT a .44. The ONLY .44 magnum that Colt has ever produced is the Anaconda. And BOTH of them are REVOLVERS!
I’m afraid you’ve lost all credibility in this forum. After having looked at your previous answers, it’s quite clear that you have no clue what you’re talking about.

well that depends on what you are going to be shooting, if birds are the case than just any 12 gauge pump action maybe a mossberg 500
but if you are going to be shooting slugs than you want to make sure you get a rifled barrel and if you get a rifled barrel don’t shoot bird shots thought it i have a 12 gauge pump action mossberg 500 and you can just buy different barrels for it,

It depends on what you’re doing, as well as personal preferences, and most importantly on whether it fits.
Those of us who like side-by-sides will often prefer a straight stock and splinter fore-end for some kinds of shooting, a pistol grip and beavertail fore-end for another type, and even give up our beloved SxS for a different action altogether for still others.
I don’t know Baltimore, but if you can manage, go to a gun shop that has a "try gun." This isn’t a real gun that you can shoot, but a thing to take your measurements so you’ll be able to tell what real guns will come close enough to fitting you. A good fit is probably more important than anything else, including the type action, barrel length, or brand name.

Remington 870. Check the yellow pages for gun shop or sportinggoods dealers.

For the money- Remington 870 Express. this pump action shotgun is THE MOST ISSUED shot gun to police departments in America.
It is rock solid and inexpensive. An auto may be quicker with the follow up shots but you will not beat the price. Also it is readily accessorized. Different choke barrels, choke tubes, sights, pistol grips- even an M-4 style 6 position stock is available (what for is up to you).
It handles 2 3/4 and 3" shells and handles ammo like a 1911 .45. (eats it all dirty or clean)
You can find them in several guages as well. I own the 12 and .410 and love them both. The best thing is when the hunting is tough and you find yourself in a position that is unkind to your firearm you need not worry it is a working gun not a $2000 dollar piece of art. Save those guns for the gun club. Good luck in you search.
