Nope its illegal for a convicted felon ANYWHERE in the US to posses a firearm . Why would a convicted felon need one anyway????

NO!
A convinced felon can’t own or possess a gun of any type in Texas.
In fact, to legally buy a gun from a store, he would have to do as everyone else does. Apply for permission to buy one and then wait three days. This system was specifically set up to STOP convected felons from buying guns.
In all fairness, if he wants to get a gun, he would have no trouble buying one-just not from a gun shop.

Convicted felons are prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms at all. It is a felony to do so.

I don’t know about Texas for certain, but most states will not allow a convicted felon to own a firearm of any type, regardless of how long ago the person was convicted of the felony.

the answer is supposed to be NO. no matter how old the felony, convicted felons are not supposed to purchase guns. i’m sure you can find some place that will sell one though, lord knows gun control is not top notch sometimes!
