Often Tactical shotguns cost more than the original.

Buy original and add what you want later.

You replace the stock, not add on to it. You may have to buy a full length stock bolt for the one that comes with the pistol grip is a couple of inches shorter than a stock bolt for a butt stock. Hope this helps.

You are not going to save a dime buying the pistol grip only model ---- Every dealer I ever saw these at over the last 30 years sells the pistol grip only model for the same price as a full stock model..... So purchase a shotgun at the best price you can find.....

Many after market manufacturers make stocks for the Mossberg 500.... There is no stock available that fits onto the existing pistol grip.... You just remove the grip and install whatever stock you want on it... Full stock, collapsible stock, full stock with pistol grip - it don't matter.... Just remove whatever stock comes with the shotgun and install a new aftermarket unit that fits your needs.... The back of the Mossberg 500's receivers are all the same - don't matter how it comes from the factory.... Remove what you don't want with a simple tool and install a new one....

Yes, you can always add a full length stock. Just make sure that when you order the new stock that you specify the model and that you need the stock mounting bolt. Some suppliers ship the stocks without the bolt.

Hi

This depends on where you live. There are a few states in the Union where this is a crime.

From a mechanical standpoint, it is just one bolt that holds the buttstock on the gun, it unscrews and you bolt on the pistol grip.
