Kind of a vague question, you can use shotgun for small game, during small game season. If you are talking about hunting deer other than during rifle season then no you cant and can only use slug during this season no buckshot

Possibly for small game, but check you laws.

No
Shotgun, rifles, and handguns fall into the same category
Other than that you have Muzzle Loader, Flintlock, and Archery

For birds and small game, yes. If you are talking about deer, a shotgun and slug are considered for legal purposes to be identical to a rifle, so the answer would be no.
