Can someone identify this shotgun casing and give me some info?
Today I found an old spent shotgun shell, and decided to find out some stuff about it. The brass has "Western no. 12 Super X" printed on it, and after looking up the Super Xs online I found out they’re an old model of shotgun shell that are sold as collector’s items. The strange thing is that the original Super X’s all have cardboard tubes, and the one I have is plastic. Anyone know what it might be?

Super X is still being widely produced by Winchester, along with their Supreme Elite line, is very popular. Yes, Super X does go back a long ways, but there are new ones. In fact, I believe I have a box of Super X 20 Gauge waterfowl loads sitting in my safe right now.

It is a shotshell from the Winchester Super X line.
I know you need to learn how to do better research. A google search for "winchester ammunition" turned up the winchester website and low and behold they still have super x shotshells listed as a category of their shotshell products. No mention of any of the current stuff being paper hulled.
