    10ga is for wimps.

Cowboy up and get on of these.

Seriously, stick with a 12 ga. The ammo alone for a 10ga will break you.

Look for it on http://www.craigslist.com/ or http://www.ebay.com or http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/

  3. the long shot

Nobody makes a Tactical 10 gauge or a short double 10. There are very few 10 gauge models. Time to fall into the 12 gauge category.

to add on to the long shot…10 guage isnt readily availiable much anymore..ive only seen it in one store in the past few years unless you dont mind buying ammo online..

Go for the gusto then and get an 8 guage good luck finding one though or even the shells for it

10ga isn’t all that popular to begin with let alone in the home defense category. One has to ask him self if it would be worth a flip as a HD gun since no one makes it in that design. Even the Street Sweeper that was later classified as a Class III firearm along with Machine guns was a 12ga. Military and law enforcement shotguns are also chambered in 12ga.

Anyhow, since your mind is obviously made up and really thought this through and all…insert sarcasm here:) The only thing I can suggest is buying a 10ga and sawing the barrel down to 18 inches. You will need to install a forward sight to make it legal…don’t cut anything under 18inches either.

Finally, someone who knows what I’m talking about.

Those puny 12/20 gauge jobs are useless… they’d only annoy your attacker.

Even a 10 gauge is too small.

Get yourself a 2 bore my lad!

Hey, get a 12 gauge like the military, police, security, hunters, home defenders all use. Maybe they know something you don’t.

There is a reason there isn’t a lot of 10 gauge stuff around, especially tactical stuff.

    Remington has a 10ga

You are looking for something along the lines of the Ithaca "Road-blocker", which was a 20 inch barreled semi-auto shotgun designed for police use. Remington bought the rights to this gun several years ago and reportedly improved on the design. You would have to check with them. Remington does make the SP10 for water fowl hunting, which reportedly kicks less than a 12 ga. shooting 3 1/2 inch shells. It is a heavy weapon however, but you might be able to get a shorter than 30" barrel. Have fun, better you shoulder than mine…..adios

Unless you can find one of the many coach guns that used to be imported in 10 ga., you are out of luck on a double gun.
The only other alternative is the Remington SP-10 with a 23" barrel.

The reason for the dearth of 10 ga. guns is all the serious shooters have discovered that the 12 ga. 3" magnum will perform just as well as 10 ga. Plus, you don’t have to hunt all over the planet to find 12 ga. shells.
Edit: I just can’t resist the urge to advise you to get a good 12 guage. Even if your mind is made up on a 10, you need something until you can find a 10.
