A good rule of thumb is to drop a dime in the barrel and if it falls through you are good to go for shooting slugs. If you have a rifled barrel then you will want a non rifled slug or a sabot.

Yes. Both of those shotguns can fire slugs. I would not fire them in anything that has a choke tighter than Full though. Tactical models usually have an open choke, so you can pretty much shoot anything out of them. Slugs are usually one size smaller than the shotgun they are being used in. So a 12 gauge slug is actually a 13 gauge projectile. That cuts down on lawsuits from people who can’t be bothered to read the warning labels on the box of shells.
(edit)
Lip Gloss Lover, you forgot the rest of that phrase. "Spread peace, through superior fire power." Or as it was so well put several thousand years ago, "Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum." If you want peace, prepare for war.

tactical shotguns (that have at least partialy rifled barrels) do better with slugs

Yes you can shoot slugs, but you need to find out whether or not your shotgun barrel is smooth bore or rifled.
If your barrel is smooth bore then you need to use rifled slugs.
If your barrel is rifled then use non rifled slugs. I am not sure if ,non rifled slugs, is the proper name as both my shotguns are smooth bore so I use rifled slugs.

Yes, you can shoot slugs from any 12 gauge shotgun.
It just depends what kind of barrel it has (rifled or smoothbore) rifled barrels will take sabot slugs, and smoothbore barrels will take rifled slugs.

depends on what barrel you have-shot barrels are different and have a tighter taper than a slug barrel, you cant shoot slugs out of a shot barrel-most "tactical" shotguns are short barrel(18.5") that are made for shot shells because they are made for close quarters and home defense, not shooting a deer with a slug
