I want to get a shotgun…i plan on hunting turkey and deer at least so i want a shotgun that is good at hunting those two animals…i have a budget of around 5 to 600 bucks. i heard good and bad things about the mossberg 500 and same with the remington express what is yall’s opinion…and if yall have something that is a little more expensive but would be better for me. just let me know. I am now debating over a Mossberg Model 500 Field 20ga 3" 28" Accu-Choke a 20ga Browning Pump Shotgun invector plus (BPS) and a 20ga Remington 870 Super Magnum (870). They are both within 50 dollars of each other only diff is 870 and the mossberg are brand new. Which gun would be better quality and last longer.

I just bought a shotgun, a Mossberg 12 gauge. All I know about guns is very basic–I’m a decent shot and just a notice user, so I know about loading/unloading, a little about cleaning (now that I own my own I need to learn more), etc. All I have shot before is my dad’s old 12 gauge, so I’ve never bought a gun new. This may be a completely stupid question, but all the same I’d appreciate some info from people who know more than I do I heard something moving back and forth when I lifted the bottom part of the gun (sorry I don’t know the technical terms, but what I mean is the big piece of the gun that’s separate from the barrel) to screw the barrel on. I held it down so the thing would slide forwards, and it’s a small wooden stick thing with two rubber circles on either end–again, it’s not in the barrel, it’s in the tube right below the barrel (magazine tube?). What is this little stick, and does it stay in the gun or not??? Again, sorry if this is a dumb, obvious question, but it’s not obvious to me so I thought I’d ask. Thank you in advance.
Thanks so much guys. I won’t be using mine for hunting either, just for fun shooting and home defense (though hopefully I never have to use it for the latter), so I’ll just take it out. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t removing some crucial piece that would cause it to fire incorrectly. Thanks again!

i got my mossberg 12 gauge in october of 2010, it came with a small scope and was about 400 buck, sorry i dont have name right now and i couldnt find on the mossberg website.
i would just like to no if anyone would no if it should fit or not.

I recently got my first shotgun, a Mossberg 500 combo.

I know the basics, the difference between a slug, buckshot and birdshot but want to know about the different types of these loads….
Give me an overview, what is 00 Buckshot? what is light target? what is the most powerful load of buckshot? the least powerful load? ditto for birdshot….
What type of slug is hardest hitting? is there a difference between lead and steel shot?
non lethal slugs? etc..
Any information on ammo types would be greatly appreciated.

(LOL, I went to the gun shop and bought Winchest AA 8-shot light target ammo… then realized is really not a good ammo for home defense.. so guide me in the right direction for Home Defense ammo type) thanks!

I live in a VERY crowded city, in an upstairs apartment, so I want something like 00 Buckshot I take it….. also it is a very ghetto city, hence why I bought the gun…
(I know, I know, move out of the ghetto right? Saving for a house/just graduated from college… so the ghetto area is my only option at the moment… lol)

I read up on it a little and they tell me it is identical to the mossberg 500. I do not own a mossberg 500 but I was wondering if the trigger group on the 500 is plastic just like on my 600at. Also I am having trouble getting the slide and magazine tube any information on that would be nice to.

i currently have a .22lr bolt action rifle, but want another toy.

should i get a low priced mossberg 12 ga shotgun?

a cheaper AK (0-360)

or a nice .22lr target pistol? (more than likely a ruger 22/45)

which should i get and why?
USE: target shooting, and to add to my arsenal. home defense (only for first 2)

I just bought a mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun deer field combo when I put the rifle barrel on I noticed there were some imperfections at the end of the barrel around the edge of the crown not going into the barrel just around the edges of the crown is this gonn affect the accuracy of the gun or should I just ignore the marks thanks…..Matt

I want to get a pistol grip stock for my mossberg 930? is there a good one to get? I kinda want one of the ones where the stock can flip ove the top of the shotgun. Is there any reason not to get a pistol grip?

I just bought my mossberg 590 12ga shotgun. I mainly bought it for home defence but my question is shells. It comes with the smooth bore barrel. Won’t rifled slugs damage a smooth barrel? When I was in the USMC we shot the benelli semi automatic shotguns and we had a mix of shot and slug loaded but I don’t remember if we had rifled barrels or not. I’d like to carry on the tradition of mixed load slug/shot. Will I need to buy a rifled barrel?

Hello, Is a 2-7X32 Nikon Prostaff a good scope for deer hunting with a 12gauge Mossberg 500 with a fully rifled slug barrel? Will this scope hold up to the recoil? Is it too much power for slug hunting? Is there any better scopes for around 0?

I know I don’t need a scope for deer hunting, but I want and prefer using a scope!
