Current events: Arsenal of weapons found before being used in school shooting.?
I saw on the news today that some kids managed to get their hands on weapons such as Rpks, Frags,Ak47,M16, and military type shotguns.
How do people get these guns!?!? Seriosuly the U.S is in another country looking for terroists but they dont know that there are people dealing high powered weapons! Its not like they can be imported from another country, security is too tight!

As a gun owner I dont think gun laws are useless. Thats stupid to think that this kid walked into a local gun store and came out with this arsenal. For one machine guns arent illegal. But they come with a very high price tag. A real M16 can set you back anywhere from $5000 and up, AKs are cheaper but no kid is gonna be able to save up his lunch money to buy em. These weapons were obviously purchased on thru a black market channel. Im sorry but those people dont exactly give 2….. about laws. So dont blame it on gun laws being ineffective. What bothers me tho is, seriously, how does a kid even get into that circle of people who even posess them illegally. I mean a GRENADE isnt one of those things that things that most people (even us "gun carrying crazies" ) even think about posessing. They would be extremely hard to come by. From what Ive read – the grenades wer home made anyways. If you are smart enough – you can stop by your local home store and walk out with legal components to make explosives. Now – everything that im seeing (off cnn’s website) – its states he possesed 30 air powered guns. People come on – those are overgrown military style LOOKING BB GUNS at best. Those are far from deadly if that was indeed what they are. A far cry from a 5.56 M16 no doubt. And his mother was accused of buying him a .22 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber rifle, and the black powder used to make the home made grenades. I had quite a few more rifles and shotguns growing up that my parents used for to hunt with. I never shot up a school nor planned to. Maybe you should blame the mother for allowing this child to keep them so readily available in his room. Stop blaming gun laws and all that crap with a story like this. Start blaming the parents.
And you are right, you can legally buy ALMOST anything you want. And yes it is legal, if you are 21, have the money- read above, and can pass a federal background check and have paper work processed thru the BATFE. Just dont burn a few more pages of the constitution when somebody goes around that process.
I always want to know – for those of you who think guns are so bad. How is a peice of metal and plastic going to load, aim and fire itself. And also if guns werent around how would you defend yourself or your family if you had to? By calling the police? …. hmmm good luck, those 5 minutes waiting for them to show up will probably be the last 5 minutes of your life.

Which is why gun control laws are worthless. If someone wants it they can get it. I would get a bazooka to prove my point but with my luck I would get busted and end up in a federal rock factory for 40 years!

As long as the NRA and the 2nd Amendment survive, then idiots with guns will go on! These are home-grown weapons. We just had a shooting here in Cleveland yesterday and it is so sad! Impulsive teen with mental issues that kept being kicked around that needed help, and instead ran home got guns (yet to be determined from where) and blam blam. Four people shot, and then he turned the gun on himself.
Blame the NRA for upholding the 2nd Amendment rights in this day and age…

Kids cannot legally get these weapons but there are people who steal them and resell them on the black market. They may have stolen them themselves. Yes, it is legal to import them as they are not automatic weapons and not military grade. What it comes down to is that people who want guns that cannot legally get them can find practically whatever they want in the black market. Criminals do not follow laws and there are always ways around them. Even prisoners in jails have them. Banning them would only mean law-abiding folks would be helpless so that is not the answer. There probably is no answer since it is old technology that is easy to make from everyday materials.
Since prior to the 1960s when Americans didn’t have all the abusive gun laws plus guns per population were greater and these sorts of killings were rare, it appears to be more of a social problem due to changed methods of parenting, social engineering by government, and public schools getting away from basic knowledge and instead teaching social issues.
