Shotguns are used almost exclusively as door busters, slugs are preferred.

any soldier that uses a shotgun would be in special ops and they can use any shot they want.

not only spec ops soldiers use shotguns, you are wrong. Soldiers can use a variety of cartridges. its usually used is close quarters and they can be fired from modified m-4s and m16s.

<— def not spec ops. def had a shot gun more than once. Carried 00 buck outside the wire and a variety of non-lethal shells with detainees.

shottys are used with detainees and prisoners and they use non lethal rounds.
the rest of the time they’re used for blowing open locked doors and stuff. when it is used as an anti-personel weapon its not in a "im taking this out with me to shoot someone" situation, its where the guy breaching the door notices someone aiming at him and reacts.
and no we dont use buckshot, we use slugs for breaching doors.
