Does anyone know where I can buy a 18 inch barrel and pistol grips for a Mossberg 410 gauge shotgun?

January 28th, 2010 by eranio

I have already checked Ebay and several other websites for these items but have not been very successful in my search. I know these items may seem a litle strange but I’m trying to build a tactical shotgun in a 410 gauge. I’ve already built one in a 12 gauge version and would like to do the same for the 410 if I can find the parts. Thanks for any help in advance.
it is a mossberg 500 and it is a pump…an 18 inch barrel is the minimum legal limit in North Carolina.

Chances are you won’t find such part in the stores. However, l have a couple of ideas but need more inforamation.

First of all, you did not say what type of shotgun you have. Is it a Mossberg 500 pump in 410?

Second, is an 18 inch barrel legal in your state? If my memory serves me right, that is exactly the minimum limit. Still, check the laws again before you act.

Now, assuming that an 18 inch barrel is legal and you have a mossberg 500 pump in 410, then the closest you will get to that is a youth model barrel model 505. Those barrels are interchangeable with the 500 barrels. I think they are at least 21 inches though. A gunsmith can saw it off for you but you better check the pattern first. It maybe already too scattery due to the short barrel length.

Your 410 is already a tactical shotgun. If the 12 guage fails, the light weight 410 makes a dandy, easy to swing, club.
