Hi, which of these shotguns is best Remington 870 Express, Mossberg 500, Benelli Nova, Stoeger P-350?
I have at the most a 350 dollar budget, thank you.
It would be for hunting pheasants and ducks, and maybe a few deer but mainly pheasants. I have a 350 dollar budget, thank you

The county I live in is shotgun and bow only .I have been hunting with a shotgun for 27 years. I had meany shotguns over the years but my favorit is Remington shotguns. I have a Remington 870 wingmaster and a Remington 1100. I have taken small game,ducks,turkey,and deer with these shotguns.There are other good shotguns on the market but I like Remington’s looks,feel,balance,reliability,and durability.Get the Remington 870 Express or the Remington 870 Wingmaster.

You really can’t go wrong with any of the above mentioned shotguns.
Don’t get the Benelli. Although Benelli makes some excellent shotguns, the Nova is their bottom of the line. It is a sub-standard gun they made so regular folks could afford it and have a Benelli. It’s like if Ferrari made a $20,000 car. It’s all about the name.
I like the 870 Express Super-Magnum myself. I use one. My brother uses one. The Army uses them. The Marines use them. Law enforcement Uses them. I have friends who have used the same 870 for 30+ years. I have seen an 870 spend a couple days at the bottom of a stream, and be ready for action after a quick clean.
The 870 is the most commonly used shotgun in North America. That means there are tons of aftermarket accessories available. They aren’t fancy and they aren’t exotic, but they are very rugged and reliable. It’s a lot of shotgun for the money. If you don’t take very good care of an 870, it will still last a long time. If you do take care of it, it will last longer than you or I.
The Mossberg is a good choice also. I don’t know anything about the Stoeger.
Also, if you do go with the 870, you can usually get a better deal if you get the combo package (both slug and shot barrels) than if you buy the slug barrel separately.
I like the Mossberg 590 (very similar to the 500)
The Mossbergs are nice because of the controls. I like the placement of the safety (ambidextrous thumb operated) and the slide release. You do not need to remove your trigger finger to operate either one.
The 500/590’s have also passed the military torture test.
I bought the Mossberg, then the Remington 870 a couple years later. Problem solved. Now I have the Mossberg for home defense and the 870 for skeet shooting. These are my recommendations depending on what you are going to use it for primarily.
Look like you have them in order. What else do you want to know?
With $350 look for a good used one.

You have to specify "best" for what purpose and yadda. If you want a shotgun that will last a lifetime and give you few problems go with the 870 which was introduced in 1951 and is unchanged to date. Tried and proven.
