How do I compress the firing pin spring on a Browning BT 99 shotgun so as to reassemble the receiver?
I’m trying to reassemble a Browning BT 99 shotgun after cleaning it. I need pointers to help me compress the firing pin spring so that I can put it all back together. Anyone know how to do this> Do I need a special compression tool?

Given how much you paid for this gun, I would take it to a good gunsmith and let him do the reassembly.
The firing pin springs on this gun are not hard to compress, so I will guess that you are talking about the mainsprings. These are always a pain to put back in on doubles, that’s why I recommend giving it to someone that has done it many times before.

Place the barrel on the hinge, then push the break lever (release) to the right as you close it. I hope I made this clear. It’s easy to do ……. just difficult to explain.
