How do I tell if my Remington model 11-48 shotgun has a full choke or not?

If it has removable choke, it will be labeled on the choke tube. If it is a fixed choke, it will be recorded on the left side of the barrel about 3" in front of the receiver.

It should be marked on the barrel generally on the left hand side, but not always.*

If it’s a 12 ga. A dime will not go inside the choke.

ou’ll have to guage the inside of the barrel. Full chokes depending on the manufacturer will be around .690 Turkey chokes are around .660 and modified is around .725 so if it’s anywhere in the .700 range, it’s probably full.

It should be labeled on the left side of the barrel if it is fixed choke. It is just an estimation. To truly know what choke you have, shoot at a 30 inch circle at 40 yards. You will have to look up on the internets but each choke is defined to put a certain percentage of the total number of pellets in the load within the 30 inch circle.
