I thought it was a crescent firearms brand name but its not.

Pieper comes out of Belguim. And although not related to crescent is still around the same in terms of value and quality. Pieper was founded by Henri Pieper in Leige, Belguim in 1884 and taken over in 1898 by Nicolas Pieper. In 1905 , they become known as ANCIENS ETABLISSMENTS PIEPER of Herstal, Belguim. Peiper guns were made in several grades with most being mediocre quality.
These are known as "hardware guns" and I would reccomend not using any high powered shells in it or even shoot it in general. Its pretty much a wall hanger and you’d be lucky to get $150 out of it. Despite its age. The year would help a little although I suspect its from the 1890′s to 1910′s.

A good shotgun will usually cost between $400-$700. Though, Pieper? I have never heard of that kind of Firearms company. It obviously is NOT a big company, meaning it will be a bit hard to sell. The most guns that people use are Remington, etc. All the bigger companies.
