How to register an unregistered shotgun in the United Kingdom?
Hopefully someone can answer my question. A friend of mine does house clearances and has found a very old shotgun, he is not sure what to do with the gun as it is worth upwards of £1000. As far as we know the gun has been in an attic for years and was probably not registered ever. I myself hold a shotgun licence. Is there anyway of adding the gun to my shotgun certificate so the gun becomes legal? I can then sell it through a gun shop for my friend? Thanks in advance Ollie

Contact your local gun shop, or call the police anonymously from a pay phone out in the country, away from CCTV cameras and ask them. Technically, if I am reading the relevant documents correctly, you and your friend are committing a crime by not reporting this immediately.
Good luck! You might need it.

Hmmm….I think i would seriously consider not reporting the gun for fear of losing it.
But first, why not check with previous owners of the house? It may be the right thing to do.

The problem is your in a pickle. See there is universal registration in your police state but if you do say you have it just like that veteran before you will be arrested and go to jail for 5 years. So either way you lose.

1st you find the sharpest kitchen knife that would be best for self defense keep it with you
2nd hide the shotgun in your house
3rd download p.a.lutys book homemade shotgun ammunition
4th make some, at least 25 rounds preferably 50 rounds
5th pack up everything important to you
6th fuel up your vehicle, get a few gas cans and a map
7th load that, the shotgun, and the ammo into your vehicle
8th drive over the border, kill everyone who tries to stop you thief, robber, or cop, find a better place
remember to not show the gun or ammo out in public as the police have cameras everywhere and even have military style surveillance drones
by even touching the gun you have committed a felony offense worth at least 10 years in prison

Although not an answer to your question, this is a fine example of why we have to continue to fight for our Second Amendment rights here in the states. Visit us at http://www.foac-pac.org

There have been many incidents where unlicensed people, through no fault of their own, have suddenly found themselves in "possession" of firearms or shotguns. The first criteria is not to panic into doing something silly or even illegal.
Should you find yourself "inheriting" firearms you have a number of choices. If you are a certificate holder then you can request that they be added to your own certificate. This would depend on the weapons not being lost or stolen, and you having capacity to store them and, in the case of a firearms certificate, the authority to possess that type of weapon. You could also request the required authority but would need to satisfy good reason.
In all case of doubt, contact your Firearms Enquiry Team covering your area. They will deal sympathetically with your problem and help you find the right solution. The last thing anybody wants is for unlicensed firearms to get into the wrong hands.
What make, O/U or SxS, gauge maybe interested.
