When i go turkey hunting i use a 12 gauge remington shotgun. Whenever i shoot the shell doesn’t eject and the barrel goes inside the chamber. I have oiled the gun and cleaned it properly. but it doesn’t fix it.

maybe your using too long of a shell
some shotguns only take 23/4" shells
it will say on the shotgun

look for a different shell brand…
Was this for the same one that was working before?

you did not put the gun together the right way, go to remington’s web site, and download the assembly instructions

Do you mean the cartridge brass goes into the barrel?
If that is the case – you may be using 12 Ga shell in a 10 Ga.barrel or 16 Ga shell in a 12 Ga barrel??
If the gun barrel is truly retreating back into the chamber then you have a serious problem

Is this an auto-loader, and if so, is it gas operated or recoil operated? A recoil operated auto-loader will cause the barrel to seemingly recede into the chamber, eject the fired shell and load up a fresh round. If this action is leaving the hull in the chamber, there are a couple of possibilities. Are you firing low powered rounds (I wouldn’t think so for turkey)? Is the extractor/ejector working properly? Totally keeping safety in mind, what happens if you manually cycle unfired rounds through the action? Do they hang up also? Is the hull coming partially out and hanging up? I’d say to be on the safe side, I’d find a reputable gunsmith and see what they think.
