Other than the small outside chance of the springs developing ‘memory’ and losing thier springiness, no wear and tear at all. Keep them loaded, a home defense gun that isnt loaded is useless. Just keep the kiddies far away.

Good choice in guns and it shouldn’t be a problem. Just clean them every now and then and shoot them a bit to make sure you ain’t gonna miss.

simple question……………..what good is an unloaded gun?
answer to your question……..who cares, as long as it works when I need it to!………you can always get another gun.

Do you mean in the magazine, the chamber, or both?
You should be okay. Unload it once in a while to be safe. That’s what I do with my pistol magazines.
Just don’t c**k it until you have to rock it. The sound of the slide moving forward is part of making the bad guys pee. I keep one in the chamber and a splayed box of #00 within arm’s reach. I can load two rack the slide and load a couple more in seconds.
If you don’t already, try shooting clays on the weekend to get extra comfortable with the weight and length of a shotgun. While being loaded is a good thing, being practiced is even better.

2 cartridges each? —- No problem…. I keep 4 cartridges in mine…. I also own several defense shotguns…. My situation requires only having one loaded… So I rotate my shotguns every month or two…. The one that’s not ready I just unload…. This way the spring wont lose tension over time….

Just confirming what others have said before.
Keeping both guns loaded with two hells each shouldn’t cause any wear and tear. As someone also said, just unload them and reload them every few months and they should be fine.

* No not really.*

Keeping springs compressed does not harm them at all. Constant use is what will wear out a spring. After a few thousand times of operation they will become weak and fail. The less you shoot, the longer they last.

nope. They last almost forever.
