Although I don't think we will see the laws change much, if I had to choose for home defense it would definitely be a 12 or 16 gauge pump. I know a lot of people think a shot gun is clumsy and not very maneuverable, but here's the thing; if you are in your bedroom and hear someone downstairs or in the kitchen or another room and suspect an intruder, I guarantee you, they are relying on quite! Once they hear the mechanism of a Remington 870 pump loading a shell, there will be little chance of anyone in the house not understanding what just happened. As for close encounters where you can actually see the life threatening situation, a hand gun would be best..With out doubt! I have a full compliment of pistols, rifles and shot guns. At close range, they're devastating. Damned near impossible to survive a direct hit at close range. Only knew one guy who did, and he was screwed up for life.
