I’m looking at buying a used shotgun sight unseen from an old friend.?

He told me that it was a Western Auto 350 A. He also said that this gun was identical to a Mossberg 500. Is this true, or does he not know what he’s talking about? I’m just trying to buy a good used shotty to hunt some rabbits and the occasional turkey. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Its not a mossy its a Savage 94D. Not wise sight unseen…. If anything breaks on it parts can be hard to find. Save a little and buy a mossberg 500 or rem 870.
In good condition its a 75.00-125.00 gun.

I suggest that you look at it first and fire it if possible. It could be in bad shape. If you have to buy it sight unseen, either don’t pay until you see it, or get in writing that you can return it for a refund.

a western auto 350a crosses to a savage 94 d.
savage built this gun for western auto, i cant say if its a good gun because their are way to many things you need to know about the fit, finnish lock up, manintenance, and ammo used in this weapon to kow if its any good, so far his info is not, buy yourself a new shot gun like a rem. 870 express, their not to bad on the pocket book and their a ton of great build up parts for cheep

Do you want to be happy or miserable? You never buy anything sight unseen. First, it’s one thing to buy from a stranger, it’s another to buy from family or friend (a totally crazy idea). Go to an expert (a gun shop) and ask the question with the gun IN YOUR HAND! Now, if this sale is for $50 or less, then maybe you can stand to kiss the money goodbye. If you don’t listen to me and get burned then just maybe you’ll have learned a lesson that I have already said to you.

I would not want to lock my self in unless I was sure I knew what I was doing, I would take it on a 5 day trial period. A trial period is common in the business. That way you can have it checked out by a gunsmith, ask him does it work, what condition is it in, what’s it worth, if the smith tells you 75 you might want to pay your friend like 125.00. Better safe than sorry

Sure he didn’t say 310A? A 310A is a Mossberg 500 12ga. If it *is* a 310, it’s a perfect gun for what you wanted it for.
