Is it possible to change the barrel length on Remington 870 model shotgun?
November 27th, 2009 by eranio
I just bought a Remington 870 Express with a 7-round magazine and 18" barrel. Can I get different barrel lengths for that model and swap them out? If so, where can I get them?

Cheaper than dirt sells the barrels for between 100 and 160 depending on length. I also have an 870 with 26" and 20" barrels. To change them move the forearm halfway back. unscrew the magazine cap pull the barrel off. Slide the new one on and reinstall the magazine cap.

Yes you can install any 870 barrel you like on that gun. MidwayUsa has many different ones: http://www.midwayusa.com/browse/BrowseProducts.aspx?t=82579&pageNum=0&tabId=9&categoryId=11765&categoryString=10636***10560***9143***11373***

There is always the ole’ hacksaw method
. Just kidding, a lot of companies sell aftermarket barrels in many lengths and options. Since the pool is so large check with any major dealer of gun parts and they’re bound to have them.

Remington sells 870 barrels seperately in just about every length and configuration you could ever want.

try auctionarms, gunbroker and even ebay (just don’t use anti-gun paypal) any 870 barrel in the same gauge will work, just unscrew the magazine endcap, pop the barrel off and put on the new one.
