Once you say "Semi-auto shotgun" you pretty much rule out cheap!

The Remington 1100 is a fine autoloader, but a new one goes for over a grand ($1000.00). There are any number of pump 20 ga guns in your price range, including the no-frills Maverick Shotgun from Mossberg. The Remington 870 Express is a good choice, too, and, of course, there are all kinds of Russian and Turkish imports that will fit your bill.

Good luck!

Remington 1100 in 20 ga. is a great gun. I personally like pumps better but the 1100 is a great gun.

In the $400 to 450 range you can maybe buy a used 1100. If you find one for 200 it is a steal grab it. You can hardly find a good reliable pellet rifle for 200 new. You are looking at used right?

There were six 20 gauge semi-autos tested by Gun Tests (the consumer reports of firearms). The one they picked in a side by side test against the Remington 1100 ($1385) and Beretta AL 391 ($1550) was the Browning Silver Hunter ($1079). The Browning Silver Hunter was the most reliable, easiest to load and easiest to maintain. This coupled with being $300 to $500 less then the others made it their choice.

As for a 20 gauge close to your price range Gun Test listed the Mossberg SA-20 ($495) Their main issue with it was loading it, as for performance it did well.

Charles Daly Field Grade. Around $300.00 at Wal Mart. They come with three interchangeable choke tubes to meet most shooting needs. I haven't shot one so I can't vouch for the quality, but it meets your price restrictions.

Shoot straight and stay safe.

about the closest thing you're going to find in your price range would be a Remington 870.

now if you truly want a 'semi-auto' 20 ga then there's only one choice - Saiga !!!! (but you're not going to even touch one for $350.....)
