question about the mossberg 500 pump action shotgun with removable choke?

what dose it feel like to shoot a moss. 500? what is the price range?
im most likely getting a used 1 from a pawn shop so it will not be any where near new but they do keep them in good condition (i hope)

The Moss 500 Field is a great gun, I got mine 10 years ago and typically use it for hunting small game and pheasant. Check out all the cool stuff you can do to it on "cheaper than dirt"
2-3/4" only – If you shoot 4s or less it pushes pretty good. 7-1/2′s and 8′s are no big deal. You can get a new Moss 500 for ~$200, used are about $125-$175

It kicks, but with 2 3/4" shells, it’s manageable for most anybody. You don’t want to remove the choke, it will ruin the threads. Visit a pawn shop or larger gun shop. They’ll have new and good used ones to pick from. Price depends upon condition. Good luck.

I’ve raised three sons and taught them all how to shoot, along with dozens of their friends. I really think you should call your state wildlife agency and find out where they have a public range with instructors. there should be one close to where you live. If not, find a public range or gun club in the area. Before you load the gun, take it to one of these places and explain your situation. It never hurts to have someone with experience check out a used gun before you pull that trigger. I’m sure someone will be glad to show you the safe way to handle and shoot the gun, along with how to safely store it. almost all police stations have free gun locks and I would never leave the gun unsecured in your home or vehicle. Safety first, and you will enjoy it for years. As far as the price, depending on the condition, anywhere from 100-200 for a used 12 guage.

Mossbergs cost as little as $239 in my area on up to $400 depending on model…..
This Mossberg 12 guage field model is the most common one and is on sale in many areas this time of the year…..

Used ? — If its in good shape then why not…. Mossberg 500 shotguns are very reliable and many I have seen used had little use…..
