Single will run you anywhere from 100 to 3000 new. Used maybe 100 to 250.

Double will go 500 to 5000 new. Used 300+. For the most part. The bigger of agun store you go too the better your chance of a lower price. The kittery trading post in kittery Maine is the best if you live in new england.

Here in the US, you can normally pick up an old, used single shot shotgun for around $50-80. A new single shot goes for just over $120 in most places. Doubles run more. Sometimes much more.

Single much cheaper. A double that is usually prized by skeet shooters cost much more.

A single barrel used about 50-100 bucks..new 100-120. A double barrel side by side or over under on the cheap side 300 used to 400 new.

Go with a cheap pump for multiple shots like Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.

Look at New England Firearms for some nice single shots for cheap. I got a brand new 12GA in 3-1/2" Magnum for $95. Yes, a new 12GA Mag for $95! And it’s not a cheezy gun either, it’s a strong, nicely finished, very tight fitting gun. You can also buy different barrels for it, get a 12GA, then a 20 or 410 as well if you want. The extras are about $50 I think.
You can also buy one of their rifles for more $, then you can buy extra rifle barrels and shotgun barrels for it. They also sell combo kits; a rifle w/ extra 12GA barrel etc.

I have a side by side 12GA in 3" by Stoeger. Very nice gun as well. New for $300 and that’s about as cheap as they get w/o going to some chinese crap or similar.

i bought my new stoeger condor over/under double barreled gun for $260 after tax. that’s not a bad price, considering it usually goes for $400 (i got mine on a huge sale).

new remington 870 pump guns go for 260 to 300.

    $300

By the way DO NOT BUY A STOGER the firing mechagnism sucks and breaks to where both barrels go off with each shot.

I’m a gunsmith and have seen this problem many times.

the stoger coach gun is good though

type in ‘gun genie’ in a google search. Click on the ‘galler of guns’ link. Click on gun genie. Do not enter info… just scroll to the bottom of the page and check out the different manufacturers. They usually have msrp and sale price.

BTW, I like my Stoeger just fine, but it’s a semi-auto. It performs flawlessly, but needs high powered ammo to do so. Given that peculiarity, though, I’d listen to what the gunsmith above says and stay clear of them just for piece of mind.
