Suggestions for a decent/moderately priced autoloading shotgun?

January 25th, 2010 by eranio

Anyone got any recommendations for a decent, moderately priced autoloading semi auto shotgun… most hold 10 shells correct? any info would be helpful, thanks
ya, 10rounds without a magazine tube extender isn’t available.. but I was thinking of adding on a magazine tube extender.
Thanks for the answers!

11-87 remington, but mine only holds 6. 5 in the tube, 1 in the chamber, with the plug removed.

The 11-87 is a fine choice. You won’t find an auto that holds 10 shells without going for an assault (home protection) model or purchasing a magazine extension.
If you are going to use it for hunting, be aware that it’s illegal to have a magazine that holds more than 2 shells (total of 3 with one in the chamber) while hunting migratory birds. This includes ducks, geese, sandhill cranes, and doves, along with some others. A plug is included with tube-fed shotguns for the purpose of keeping you from loading more than two rounds in the magazine, and it can be easily removed.

11-87 remington is a good choice

Franchi makes a Browning clone …
Bennelli is Ok … they may get out of the price range.. seem a little high to me for what they are.

Most common sporting shotguns hold about 5 rounds or so… and need a plug to restrict capacity for federal (some states too) hunting…esp migratory birds.

tons and tons of nice used shotguns out there too…most sporting guns live in a closet most of their lifes…

Most — Maybe NO shotguns I can think of hold 10 cartridges…. I think there are some military shotguns that are 10 shots or more like this….. The AA1 12 comes to mind….

Of course if your hunting ducks this would be a little silly…..

Take a look at the Mossberg 930 shotguns….

Try the Charles Daly semi autos. As stated before most shotguns do not hold 10 rounds unless you modify them!
