Tactical Shotgun Storage, would you buy it?
December 1st, 2009 by eranio
I think I have an idea for a way to store a shotgun loaded and to make it tactically accessable for home defense… for all those people who prefer shotguns to pistols. Two questions: would you consider buying one for your house, and if so, how much would you be willing to pay for such a storage device?

I would. The reason is that if I need my shotgun, it’s because there’s an intruder in my home. And if there’s an intruder in my home I’m upset, scared, shaky and frightened……….none of which is any condition to be loading a weapon in. I would pay up to $75 for a way to SAFELY store a loaded shotgun.

You mean something like this:

For me I prefer handguns and need to keep them out of reach of my kid, so I use one of those lockboxes.

What does it look like and how does it work?
I won’t consider buying something until I’ve seen it and seen how it works.

if it’s locked up, then how are you gonna get it quickly when you need it? impossible

Depends on what it is. You’re not giving us alot of information here.

If you had some kind of small safe big enough to hold one shotgun and could be opened quickly, maybe by key pad, then maybe I would buy it.

no.
my "tactical shotgun storage": a bedroom corner near the headboard of the bed w/ a rem. 870 w/ an empty chamber and a full tube.

actually, for me it would not work. I carry a pistol at all times. But, at night, my shotgun comes out of the safe and goes beside the bed on a rack I built just for that purpose. The ,45 goes on the nightstand after I wipe it down. Next morning, the pistol goes back on and the shotgun goes back into the safe.
shoot safe

I keep a loaded tactical shotgun in my house. I don’t want to store it, or lock it away. I want it accessible. But, what have you got?

Its possible if we knew a little about it.
