Ok, me and my friend know nothing about guns. We have only played them in video games.
Well, my question is, will a Remington 870 shooting 00 buckshot have more power than a Mossberg 590 shooting the same 00 buckshot?
My friend says he thinks the Remington 870 would have more power. I think the power would be the same because both are still shotguns.

I am a newbie when it comes to shotguns and after much reasearch I decided to go with a Mossberg Mav 88 with the 18.5 in barrel. I would like to know what sights are best for home defense. I did purchase a butt cuff and a 5 pack of 2 3/4 00 buckshot. That seemed to be the popular consensus from what I read.

buckshot out of it? The barrel states that it can can take up to 3 in shells. I have a bunch of super mag 00 buckshot and dont know if that is too much of a heavy load for the barrel. It still has the factory choke tube in it and im not sure what kind it is (modified, improved skeet). HELP!!
