First I’ll start by saying I know nothing about guns and specs, but I do know that I want one for recreational use…
My friend has a 12-gauge Remington Shotgun and she mostly does target practice with it but Last weekend she went out to hunt some Ptarmigan.. she didn’t find any unfortunately.
I want something that I can buy that I can use to go along with her.. i won’t be shooting much, but I’d like it to be a shotgun.
Any suggestions on specific models? Why?

I have an elderly friend that wants a shotgun for personal protection. I do not think she can handle a 12 gauge, and I am not sure a 28 gauge would be powerful enough. I do not know much about shotguns. She will likely never have to fire this weapon, but if she ever does, I want to make sure that she is able to handle it safely. We have a budget of about 0, and I plan on making the purchase in Nevada.

I want to get a shotgun for grouse season and was wondering is a mossberg 590 would be a good choice. Is it a good reliable well biult gun. Is it quality. Or would I be better off to get a pump action. These will be in 12 gauge.

I bought a mossberg 20 gauge shotgun that kicks as hard as my 12 gauge browning, any ideas how to soften the kick??
With trap shooting the kick is becoming a distraction.

I’m turning 18 in january, and i want to buy my own 12 gauge. I have no criminal record, and I’m wondering what i will need in order to buy a shotgun. Is there any permits or anything like that? Can i go in there the day i turn 18 and walk out with the 12 gauge??
Thanks in advance.

I have a Stevens 12 gauge smooth bore medium choke shotgun. It doesn’t have threads for installing different sized choke tubes in at the end of the barrel. I heard it is possible to bring it to a gun shop and have them drill threads in the barrel for different coke tubes. Is this true? If so, how expensive would it be to do it?

I am looking to buy a shotgun for home protection and to go to the range. I don’t want to spend anymore then about 0 on one. I would like a 12 gauge and I know this doesn’t matter but I would like it to be all black. Any ideas?

Hi I am moving to a home in las vegas, the are looks good but I want home security just incase. SHould I go with a shotgun or handgun? I either want the Taurus 24/7 PRO .45 ACP or the Mossberg 12 gauge shotty. ALso, if the shotty is a better choice, should I get the pistol grip? I would ofcourse take classes for training before firing the gun, thanks.

I am looking for the cheapest 3.5" 12 gauge auto shotgun. Preferably with a 28" barrel. Cheapest one I have found so far is the Mossberg 935 for 398 + tax. Anyone have any better ideas?

Hi,
I really need some help and advice. I am pretty new to Shotguns. I have a 12 gauge that says 3/4" to 3" (inches) bore size for shells.
Does that mean i need to buy a 3/4" to 3" cleaning brush to clean the inside of my barrel and my Magazine Barrel?
I have alot of residue and even some paint inside the barrels that’s effecting the action.
Also if i use a brush inside the barrel do i have to put a cloth over it? I was just going to use the Hard Thistles on the brush by it’s self to clean the inside good. I just don’t know what to search for the right size brush.
Sorry for all these questions, But i really need help.
All answers appraeciated. Thanks alot,
Andrew.

I have an old 12 gauge s/s shotgun that is missing the wooden forestock. The only marking on the gun is the word "perfection" stamped on the receiver. I know it’s not a real valuable firearm, but it has some sentimental value. Is there a source for "generic" stocks? I have some experience in woodworking, and could probably modify it if necessary.

I have an old 12 gauge high standard supermatic shotgun with a 30 inch barrel and a full choke? I was wondering if you can shoot size 7 1/2 or 8 shot out of it with good patterning. Any other size of shot would be very helpful for future shotshell selection. thank you.

I’m thinking about getting a new/ good condition shotgun over the Summer, shotguns are the one thing me and my father don’t have many of, maybe only 3 or more, the ones I know of are a double barrel break action 20 gauge, a long barreled goose 12 gauge and one other which I’ve forgotten what it was. So I’ve decided by the end of Summer I should pick one up. I want something for just walking around in the woods, maybe home defense and SHTF "hey, you never know" I want a pump action, synthetic stock to start with, 12 gauge shotgun, I’ve looked at the Mossberg 500 and Rem 870 and I know there’s a lot of debates over them, and I’m not asking for that, just what you guys think of them, I want something to that has a lot of capacity, I’m not much of a shotgun man so I know every little about models, I also want one with out an internal choke so I can shoot slugs out of it, but possibly an adapter at the end to install one. And if any of you could give me almost a full review of any guns that might suit my needs would be amazing. Sorry if anything may sound novice level but like I said, I’m not a shotgun man, I just learned how a choke worked a few days ago. Thanks. Price isn’t a major deal but let’s try to keep it as low as possible.
I looked on Gunbroker and it looks like I’d be paying from 0-0 for a Mossberg 500
Yes I know this question has been brought up so much, too bad, but I’m not asking Vs of the two, just your thoughts and/or any other models, I’m not asking for self def so relax, but a high cab, pump action, reliable shotgun.
With as much capacity as I can possibly get out of a pump action, tube feed shotgun.
I think I’m leaning towards the Mossberg 500 or 590, but ammo’s a b!@#$ so I’ll have to find the best deal I can.

I want a relatively compact pump shotgun. I am pretty experienced with guns but I do not know much about shotguns. Could someone give me a crash course on shotguns. like the difference between 12 gauge and 20 gauge. and also any recommendations for a brand and model shotgun in my price range. Thank you.
