Benelli M2 vs Benelli M2 American?

May 11th, 2011 by eranio

What are the differences between the Benelli M2 and the Benelli M2 American? Are the essentially the same gun (internal mechanisms and features as well as exterior design and feel)?

If im using a rifled choke tube on a smooth bore barrel what type of ammunition should i use.?

May 9th, 2011 by eranio

I have a Benelli 12g Nova pump with a smooth bore field barrel. Currently im shooting rifled slugs through it. If i buy the rifled choke tube for it should i continue to shoot rifled slugs or switch to sabot slugs. It would seem to me that the rifling of the slugs would not agree with the rifling of the choke tube. All answers are greatly appreciated

good shotgun for home defense mossburg 500, remington 870 or beneili super nova?

May 4th, 2011 by eranio

i have been looking at getting a shotgun for home defense. I do not hunt so i dont see myself getting the combo kits. I heard that the tacticle ones even with shorter barrells you can still be pretty accurate with skeet shooting. So i was wondering what should i spend this on? remington 870 tacticle 7 shoot? moosburg 500? 500 just in case? or benelli supernova (dont think i spelled that right) i heard pardner brand is not that great. Really leaning towards the 870. Just looking for other inputs. I was reading the reviews on the 500′s and some people stated they had problems with the barrell rusting but i thought mossburg was supposed to make great shotguns so i was thinking that was the owner not taking care of the gun. Looking to spend 0 at the most.

What's the recoil like on a shotgun with no recoil pad?

May 3rd, 2011 by eranio

I recently did an adjustment to my Benelli… The stock was ridiculously long and there is no adjustment, so I just took the recoil pad off. Still haven’t taken it out yet…

Anyone fire a shotty without any pad? How bad is it?

I am a 14 yr old boy that wants a new 12 ga. shotgun. I have 3 guns in mind; the benelli SBEII, Browning Maxus?

April 18th, 2011 by eranio

, and the beretta xtrema 2. i want a gun with semi-light recoil and will last me pretty much my whole life. i like the maxus because it is so light and semi inexpensive. i like the benelli because my dad has one and it is very reliable. and lastly i like the beretta because it seems to have the lightest recoil. which gun would u prefer? i ususally hunt duck and geese but the ducks are usually flybys so i need a gun that swings easy. thanks for your help
and i live in calif. wher the temp dosnt get below 35 degrees. so the maxus is a bad gun?

How can I increase the top speed of my Benelli 49x?

March 31st, 2011 by eranio

I own a 2010 Benelli 49x 2 stroke. I bought the scooter and it was restricted using a smaller jet in the carburettor and a long piece of exhaust. The scooter came with the larger jet and smaller exhaust which I have fitted correctly. Before derestriction the scooters top speed was 32mph and 40 down a large hill. It is now 38 on the flat and 42 down any sized hill (within reason). The speedo goes up to 50mph so I was expecting 45 mph when derestricted. If anyone tell me how to increase the speed further that would be great. Note: I do not want to change any parts e.g big bore kits, racing crankshafts, chain+sprockets etc.

*Pre-Election Warm Up* Please vote for one of these 3 motorcycles; Benelli, Ducati, or Triumph?

March 27th, 2011 by eranio

Who gets your vote?

I’ve never seen the Benelli in person, so I’m not sure about it, but I’m digging it. The Duck is just that, …and I’ve always liked the Speed Triple; it just looks hard, but I’m not too sure about the bug eyes.

Which is the better open class dual-sport? Triumph? Benelli? Other make?

March 24th, 2011 by eranio

I’m replacing my 996, and don’t want another ‘pure’ sports bike. But I do want something that can deliver somewhat of a high performance ride. I love the looks of the Benelli, but the closest dealer is about 400 miles away…that may be an issue. No comments please such as "can’t your harley do that for ya?" ‘cuz you already know the answer. That’s not what i have it for…although the foot boards are scuffed up a little.

…or maybe john could build me one like this with a shovel in it?

March 16th, 2011 by eranio

i was thinking about picking up a benelli r1 pretty soon and was wondering if anyone actually shot one? hows the recoil compared to lever type rifle and bolt action ones? i heard it tremendously reduces recoil is this true? whats your opinions on the cheek pad(comb inserts), you guys prefer the high one, medium, or none at all? do you guys recammend the comb inserts with scope or without as i like to shoot with and without sometimes depending on what type of game and mood i am in. btw i live in california not that it really matters. thanks guys

What can I hunt with a Benelli Cordoba/Henry Golden Boy?

March 8th, 2011 by eranio

My dad just bought me these two guns in California. Pickin them up in 10 days becuz of the background inspection. I just wana know what kind of game I could potentially hunt with these guns. The benelli is a 12 g and the GB is a .22. BTW..i’ve never shot a gun b4…im kinda nervous about the kick of the shotgun but my dad’s telling me that since the cordoba is the top of the line in benelli..it barely comes with recoil…should i believe him? lol. I’m actually thinking of getting an air gun 2.

Loading my Benelli pump shotugn?

March 3rd, 2011 by eranio

I took my Benelli Supernova 12 gauge to the range yesterday and fired off 50 rounds. It was a blast! (pun intended). But my problem is the Supernova has a 4+1 capacity. Every time I started pushing shells into the tube, I could get two in and the third would not go all the way in… making the gun 2+1. Has anyone had a similar experience, any suggestions? Yes I was using 2 3/4" shells, so it should take all 4 into the tube. The third one would go almost all the way in and then it felt like I had reached capacity, couldn’t push it in any further. Should I just "force it" and see what happens, or am I just doing something stupid?

Anyone know of any shotgun magazine limits in Washington State?

February 28th, 2011 by eranio

I recently purchased a Benelli 12 ga. security shotgun. The magazine is suppose to hold four 3" shells but will accept only two. The owners manual states that local laws may require that a limiting device be installed in the magazine. Anyone know about this in Seattle, King County, and the state of Washington?

benelli supernova or remington 870 wingmaster?

February 18th, 2011 by eranio

we went to the store and picked out my favorite shotguns the remington is much lighter, smoother and has a better feel but doesnt shoot 3.5 inch shells (my favorites) the benelli has less recoil, shoots 3.5 inch shells and is waterproof. i am leaning more toward the 870 because i have one allready but need some advice thanks!
oh ya ill use it for mostly DOVE
it will be 12 gauge
i shoot 3.5 inch for fun because they kick alot and for long range duck or geese

Remington 870 or Benelli Supernova? Or another, if you should vehemently suggest…?

February 14th, 2011 by eranio

This will be my first shotgun that I buy personally. I have an ancient Revelation (of which I can’t even find the manufacterer), but it broke at my last shoot, and I want to fix and preserve it, as it has a family history. The only shooting I really do for now is shoot clay pigeons, and only then once in a while. I have researched many different guns extensively, and believe these two to be the best options. I really like the ComforTech System by Benelli, but does it *actually* reduce recoil as much as Benelli says it does? And how reliable is the Supernova? I know that the 870 has been a favorite ever since 1950. My dad has an 870 Wingmaster from 20 years ago that still works as if he just bought it, so reliability is not a question. I just want something more modern, lets say (a reason I am leaning toward the Supernova). The reason I ask on YAHOO is becuase I want unbiased answers. Many forums (and subsequently their opinions) are dominated by fans of a certain brand. Thank you.

Remington 870 or Benelli Nova??

February 13th, 2011 by eranio

I’ve been debating over this for about 2 weeks now. I am looking for my first shotgun and are stuck between the 870 and the nova. I read that the 870 rust easy. Is that true? Well, I don’t want to spend more than 400-500 on it. Both my cousins own the 870 and the other owns the benelli. They said that both guns are good but whats the difference? which do you prefer? The Remington 870 is 200.00 (in camo finish) and the benelli is 409.00 (also in camo) I will use it mainly for hunting doves, turkeys, and probably squirrels. which gun will be a better choice?
but i have heard that the remington 870 rust after just the first time out in the field? is that true? anyone experienced that before? I want it to last a long time so that I may pass it down to my kids too…

What Benelli shotgun is best for Dad?

February 9th, 2011 by eranio

I really want to get my dad a Benelli 12ga. shotgun for christmas, but I’m not sure which one. I hunt as well and i usually take my remington 870 express, I don’t want to get him an automatic, cause every auto we have ever had we have had a problem with, and we hunt at a club and we run deer dogs ( walkers mostly, a few beagles though) and we have dogs we field trial too. Which Benelli would be best for him? I really want to get him one for christmas because hes been wanting one for a while now. Has anyone had any problems with their Benellis? I know alot of the benellis are popular with the bird hunters, but like i said we dont bird hunt. Any help would be greatt! :) :)

Benelli Supernova recoil?

February 8th, 2011 by eranio

I recently posted a question comparing the recoil of my 1960s 870 Wingmaster to that of a new Benelli Supernova and got conflicting answers. Som people said the recoil on the Benelli was minimal while some said it was basically brutal. I’m looking to purchase a Supernova soon unless something turns me away from it such as more reports of extreme recoil. I plan to use it for shooting clays quite frequently and the occasional turkey hunt. Since I will be shooting clays mostly I don’t want to have a gun with such severe recoil that it takes the fun out of it. I will be mostly shooting 2-3/4" target loads with 1 to 1-1/8 ounce shot.

I would extremely appreciate it if I could hear back from people who own a Supernova and can comment on it’s recoil or from people who have shot one and can also comment on it’s recoil. I research everything to death before I buy something and want to make sure I’m making the right choice. By the way I’m 6 feet tall and 170 pounds.
Football Freak can you suggest a good 7/8 ounce load and where to find it? I’ve looked for 7/8 ounce 12 gauge shells and 1 ounce is the lightest I can find and can get 100 rounds locally for 24 dollars. The 1 ouncers are what i plan on using for clays with the Benelli. I’m not recoil sensitive but if the gun has severe recoil it will make a clay shoot less enjoyable. Only other gun I’ve considered is Browning BPS. I want to stick with a pump for dependability.
