How to make a Fake Double Barrell Shotgun?

December 30th, 2010 by eranio

I am doing a show that requires a double barrell shotgun, and unfortuantly they are too expensive for our budget to rent and I can’t find one to borrow. I have a background in making props, but I’m not sure where to start with this one. Has anyone made one before? Or any ideas of where to begin?

What type of shotgun would you recommend?

December 9th, 2010 by eranio

I have an elderly friend that wants a shotgun for personal protection. I do not think she can handle a 12 gauge, and I am not sure a 28 gauge would be powerful enough. I do not know much about shotguns. She will likely never have to fire this weapon, but if she ever does, I want to make sure that she is able to handle it safely. We have a budget of about 0, and I plan on making the purchase in Nevada.

What is a cheap rifle, handgun, revolver, shotgun, or pistol I could buy?

November 8th, 2010 by eranio

I have a collection of guns but this time I am on a budget and I want a new gun under 200 dollars. I am over 21 and I want another gun. If you name a rifle or a shotgun name one that shoots multiple bullets or shells after it is loaded. Only list the gun and the price please. 10 points to best answer.

Mossberg 500 shotgun deer hunting.?

November 4th, 2010 by eranio

I have a mossberg 500 shotgun. I am a big deer hunter with a little budget. I was wondering if a rifled barrel can shoot rifled slugs? I know most barrels out there cost like 160 bucks and up. I found this barrel at walmart and it comes with a scope http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mossberg-Barrel-Scope-Combo-For-20-guage-500-Shotguns/4956490 Would it be a good barrel to use with any kind of rifled slugs? It looks like I can get a different scope if that one dosen’t fit me.
Thanks
lew

Have to choose my shotgun but don't know which one to go with. The Mossberg Maverick 88 or Stoeger 350 Pump?

September 26th, 2010 by eranio

So I have decided that I’m going to start my collection of competition shotguns and found that within my budget are the Mossberg Maverick 88 and the Stoeger 350 Pump. Neither of the models I have in mind use the pistol grips. Both are smooth bore, although the Stoeger comes with 5 chokes.
As far as construction is concerned I have felt the Mossberg and for some reason the base pump feels flimsy. I have yet to handle the Stoeger though I am aware that it is also synthetic but also a longer weapon.
Anyone have any personal experience with either weapon? I would like to know your take on the individual constructions and the viability of them as competition pieces.
Thanks everyone.

Proper shotgun for trap/ skeet shooting?

April 12th, 2010 by eranio

I am an avid trap and skeet shooter and I’m looking to buy a new shotgun. So I need a bit of advice. There are three pump shotguns from Remington that I’m interested in. Now before you tell me to go with semi-automatic, yes I know but it is just too much out of my budget. So the three models are the Remington 870 Express 28", 870 Express Tactical 18.5", and 870 Express Synthetic 7-Round, all 12 Gauge. Any idea which I should purchase for this particular sport?
Well if I can’t get a semi-auto then I’m pretty sure I can’t afford an over and under either.

What is the best shotgun for home defense and what accessories will I need?

March 16th, 2010 by eranio

I have been researching for about 2 weeks now on a home defense shotgun. I have looked at everything from the cheaper end NEF Pardner to the more expensive Remingtons and Mossbergs. I was thinking later I may buy a longer barrel to go hunting with buddies. Are they all easy to convert? Not sure which one to go with. I have about a 5-$ 300 budget. Should I go used?
Did some more shopping around at the gunshow this last weekend and around town. Found a Maverick 88, 28in barrel at my local Academy for 9, saw the 18in barrel online for at Buds. Im still hesistant to go that route vs saving a lil more and just buying a combo kit from Mossberg?

I'm in the market for a remington 870 shotgun. I need information on which is right for my needs.?

February 13th, 2010 by eranio

I’m looking for an 18" to 20" barrel. I will be using this for indoor range as well as outdoor ranges. I need to know if getting the fixed cylinder choke is the best way to go. I know remington has one for under 400 bucks which is around my budget. Also, what is the difference with a rifled barrel and a smooth bore barrel. I will not be using this for game hunting. Thanks for any help.

What is the best over-under shotgun?

January 4th, 2010 by eranio

I have currently been using my step-fathers Ruger Red Label 26" barrely 12 gauge, but I’m wondering what other people prefer. I am going to Cabela’s tommorrow to check some guns out. I would like to get my own, and right now I think I will be getting another Ruger but will take awhile before I can afford it into my budget. If you have any other suggestions of guns to check out, that would be great!

Double-barrel shotguns used for clay pigeon shooting and hunting?

November 23rd, 2009 by eranio

Hello. I would like to get involved in clay shooting but I am a complete beginner. I’ve never even held a shotgun before. I am English.

I know there are two different types of double-barrel gun; over and under/ side by side. I will need the former for clay shooting I believe.

I have a couple of questions, I’d be very grateful for any help…

With these double-barrel guns, is it possible to fire both barrels at the same time…or can you only shoot one after the other?

I am a fit 22yr old lad, average build, with fairly limited funds but not a shoelace budget. What sort of gun should I look at buying, assuming I get on well with my first couple of goes? I know the club will advise me but I’m just eager to start looking through the catalogues! What gauge/ set up etc, and what ammo type or size?

Cheers!
