IT’S GETTING HARDER FOR MY HUSBAND TO SEE THE DEER,WUOLD I BE BETTER OFF BUYING HIM A NEW GUN AND SCOPE ALL TOGETHER? ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?
The Remington 11-48 is a semi-automatic shotgun manufactured by Remington Arms as the first of the "New Generation" semi-auto’s produced after World War II. The Model 11-48 was released as the replacement for Remington’s Model 11. It was manufactured from 1949 to 1968 and was produced in 12, 16, 20 and 28 gauge and .410 variations.
I plan to use the gun for bird hunting(grouse, pheasant), turkey and I plan to get an additional slug barrel for deer. I want semi-auto. I don’t know whether to spend the extra money to get a Benelli, or just stick with the 1187. Im more about quality of the weapon, but obviously I would like to save some money. Resale isn’t really a concern, since I want this weapon for as long as possible. Will the more expensive Benelli really be worth the money?
Really, though. If I were rushed by a pack of deer, how many could I reasonably expect to kill with an standard automatic shotgun before was taken down.
Would it be able to bring down larger animals like antelope or deer?
Also, I’ve heard that some shotguns can fire both shotshells and slugs. How does that work and what sorts of features would I need to look for in a shotgun that can do that.
I’m 14, and wanting to srtide away from boy hunting, and i found the remington 11-87 in 20 gauge at gander mountain, it was a reasonable prise 9.99, and I’m really wanting to get it, but how bad is the recoil if I use 2 3/4” slug shells? And this will be a good choice on deer, right?
I got a new shotgun and im wondering if i can kill deer with it. When I shoot slugs (thats all i can kill deer with) should i keep the modified choke in it. The barrel is a regular barrel or should i get a rifled one? I’ve killed some birds and ducks with it so i know its good for that. But can my shotgun kill a deer under 100 yrds.
thank you…
hi, the shotgun is advertised with a fixed cylinder choke, can i hunt with this? i hunt any thing from crows, rabbits, deer, ducks, pretty much anything that moves. also can i shoot any type of shells from birdshot to slugs? Sorry if it sounds dumb, im a rifle/handgun guy and know nothing of shotguns.
i have a Remington model 1100 20 GA. shotgun with a rifles slug barrel for deer. I’m trying to get into waterfowl without buying a new gun. I’m having some trouble finding a cheap smooth bore bird barrel for it.
Looking for an affordable (under 0) pump shotgun with a shorter barrel mainly to keep for home defense but would also like to use it for deer hunting with slugs (mostly for thick woods and under 50 yards). Would also want a regular stock, no folding or pistol grip tacticool looking crap. Who the hell needs a laser on a damn shotgun. The ability to put a light would be handy but not necessary.
It has a shotgun and rifle combined. I guess so when you hit the deer or whatever with the shotgun you get up close and finish it off with the small rifle.
I live in an area where rifle hunting isnt permitted, so I need info about buying a shotgun, that would be capable of shooting slugs… I do not want a double barrel shotgun, I just want a single barrel. What can I expect to pay for a decent gun, but nothing too fancy I just want to shoot a deer or two… include some links if ya can.
Whats your thoughts on the Remington 870 Express Super Magnum Shotgun. I want to buy this gun for shoot turkey, quial, maybe deer. The more feedback you have the better. Thanks all!
This will be my first year hunting. I want to hunt bear, deer and turkey. I am 5’5′ female, with a medium frame. I am considering the Remington 870 Express as my first shotgun. I base this choice on research. Would this be a good choice given my size. I want something that is not too heavy or awkward.
I have been advised to use a remington 1187. I would just use the modified stock choke for turkey and buy a slug barrel for deer. Is that the best choice? I dont want anything crazy, just a good, reliable and versitile gun.
its a toss up between the Winchester SX3 Cantilever Deer 3" 12/22 Semi-Auto Shotgun and Remington 11-87 Sportsman ® ShurShot Camo Cantilever….. i know both shoot 3" shells both have cantilever barrel and both are semi-auto….. winchester has a 22" barrel and the remington has a 21" barrel
I bought a Maverick by Mossberg Shotgun recently with screw in chokes (full and Improved Cylinder). I would also like to take it deer hunting. A Few people have said that its ok with the improved cylinder choke but very bad with any other choke. I just need to know if i can shoot slugs using the improved Cylinder choke or if i need a separate barrel.
I am getting a 20 gauge mossberg 500 slugster combo and want to put a scope on the deer barrel. Any suggestions on what scope I should buy(only serious answers please)?
