Are parts for a Ted Williams model 200 12ga. (2 3/4 chamber) shotgun interchangeable with a Winchester 1200?

April 13th, 2010 by eranio

I’ve owned a Ted Williams model 200 12 Gage shotgun since it was new and I’ve been told that the parts for that shotgun were interchangeable with a Winchester 1200.

While it’s been a reliable hunting shotgun for years, I’m considering changing it to a home defense shot gun. I’m fairly certain that finding parts for converting the model 200 to a tactical style shot gun is probably impossible. I’m wondering if the tactical parts (such as the slide, barrel, and stock) that are avaible for the Winchester model 1200 will fit the model 200 Ted Williams shotgun.

Shotgun Damage… Beyond Use?

April 9th, 2010 by eranio

I just acquired this crazy shotgun in a firearms lot I purchased from an estate. It is a double side-by-side barrel 10ga shorty.

It is not a tactical gun, or chopped up ghetto-gage… this is a very "old school" wood tailed pistol grip, engraved, double trigger shotgun. About 19" in TOTAL length. This is also the only double trigger shotgun I’ve ever seen that will fire both triggers at the same time.

So… the thing is, there is a small "lump" in one of the barrels near the breach. Not big… just able to tell its there. Being that it is not only a 10ga, but a shorty double barrel, I know this thing would be a BEAST to fire… and I am itching to shoot it.

Is "any" form of barrel bulge "too much" to be safe?

This gun is so beautiful… I will certainly keep it as a "wall hanger"… but would it be safe to still fire?

I own 37 guns… but am by no means an expert, nor gunsmith… What do you think?
No it’s does not have Damascus barrels… and I do not plan on using this as a regular shooting gun, But it’s a TANK, and would really like to fire it before leaving it for display.
Just to add… the "lump" is external… like a pressure bulge… not inward like a dent.
I’m a big dude… I am not concerned about the power, or holding it… I am sure I am firm enough of a shot to handle it… just don;t want it to blow out a barrel directly next to my wrist, as thats where the bulge is while holding in a shooting stance.
Wow… the legal eagle is floating about. I misused the word TOTAL. The legal limit is 18-3/4" barrel length… the barrel is 19" long, not the entire gun. I have purchased tactical shotguns that are of equal length… the gun IS legal.

I have a Ithaca double barrel shot gun?

March 14th, 2010 by eranio

What is the best shotgun?

February 24th, 2010 by eranio

I only know a little about shotguns. I want to know what the best shotgun is for deer and turkey hunting and trap shooting, but i also want a shot gun that i can shoot skeet, duck, geese, quail, pheasant, and raccoon. What shot gun would be the best for that, obviously pump action, but what gage? I want to know what gage. and if their is also a good brand.

Also i want a long barrel. Is their any shot gun that can do all of that or at least most of it, and if it cant do it all please tell me what it can do. I know i definitely need it to be able to kill deer and turkey

What would be the best pump shotgun for deer hunting (using slugs) and home defense (using shot)?

November 19th, 2009 by eranio

I am looking for an affordable 12 gage pump shotgun for multiple uses; home defense and hunting deer and turkey. I want to use slugs for deer hunting but I know that slugs would not be a reasonable home defense ammunition. What should I look to purchase?
