I am looking for a shotgun I can use to shoot clay pigeons. I have an 18 inch 20 gauge Mossberg. I haven’t used that for clay pigeons yet. I have shot a 28 inch barrel shotgun and hit most of the pigeons. My arms got really tired after a little bit. Anyways.. the 18 inch won’t be as accurate right? So what’s a good one?

Hi, i went to big 5 here in las vegas, and they are selling a mossberg 12 gauge 8 shot shotgun for 9.00 but the guy said he would sell it to me for 0 if I decide by tomorrow? How come they would go lower? Could it have a problem? Also, is that a good deal for that shotgun? It looks great to me, its the 590a mossberg

i want to get a new shotgun soon, but i am on a tight budget. what would be the better buy:
a) a used Ruger Red Label all-weather (synthetic)
b) a new stoeger condor
both in 12 gauge with the longest available barrels for clay shooting. what would be the better buy? any thoughts on either?
this would be my first-ever gun (i’m 18) and would be used for clay shooting in a friend’s yard with plenty of space.

Hello all. I was just wondering what the difference is between a rifle and a shotgun. When I hear shotgun I think of a 12 gauge double barrel and when I hear rifle I think of a single barrel gun where you have a magazine. Am I right about these differences? Are there any other differences? Thanks.

OK. i recently asked about hunting black bear, and earlier tonight i bought a mossberg 500 12 gauge pump action shotgun to get my shot better. If i dont get a better shotgun, using the mossberg I now have with a 3" slug shell, would you say i have a decent chance at actually taking down a bear? Please do not answer this unless you have experience hunting bear.

looks like the best way is to just buy a new 18.5" barrel and do the pistol grip myself. can anyone suggest where the best places might be to purchase this barrel for my mossberg 20 gauge pump model 500c and if i buy one, is it something i can change out myself . thanks again everyone for the input.

I’m going to buy a shotgun soon and i was wondering how much the Mossberg 590a1 spx 12 gauge 9 shot with the 20” heavy walled barrel, metal trigger guard & safety button, black synthetic stock, picatinny rail, and the lpa ghost ring sights cost.

This past hunting season i was going to use my grandpa’s Mossberg 20 gauge pump shotgun but i didn’t due to that i bruised my shoulder firing a similar shotgun. Anyway when my dad and i went to a Gander Mountain to buy rounds for the shotgun i thought we could use buck shot but the guy there said that in Minnesota and in several other states Buck Shot is illegal. My question is, why is it illegal? Is it because on how much damage it can do to someone?

I’ve gone trap shooting before and really want to pursue that as a hobby. My friend recommended that I get a 12 gauge over-under shotgun. What is a good shotgun for trap shooting?

I inherited some old shotguns and want to know how old they are and what they are worth.
#1 12 gauge Sears Roebuck Ted Williams Model 300 serial#Q48432
#2 16 gauge Remington Wingmaster 870 serial#556553W
#3 20 gauge Remington Model 1100 serial#L409751K
There are more marks and numbers on them all

I have a Mossberg 500 12ga Field model, 28".
The barrel says "chambered for 2 3/4 and 3 in. shells"
The manual says "designed for 2-3/4" and 3" magnum shells within gauge"
In other words, no mention of rifled slugs. The manual says "designed for … shells and rifled slugs" only for models 535.
Does it mean that 500 Field models do not handle rifled slugs?
I have not removed the choke already in the barrel, but the extra two chokes that came with the shotgun are: Full, and Imp. Cyl.

my shotgun is a 1960′s 20 gauge mossberg pump. model is the 500c. it is a 28" with modified choke. i would for the barrel to be as short as it can be legally. if it is considered better to have a smithy do the work how much might i be looking at. thanks for anyone that can help.
