How come they would go lower? Could it have a problem? Also, is that a good deal for that shotgun? It looks great to me, its the 590a mossberg

I know the statute says no more than 5 but is that for automatic shotguns? I hate the purposely vague wording of Mass gun laws, they are an invitation to trouble.
"A weapon is large capacity if it is a semi-automatic handgun or rifle that is capable of accepting (or readily modifiable to accept) any detachable large capacity feeding device that holds more than ten rounds, OR if it is a shotgun capable of accepting more than five shotgun shells, OR if it is an assault weapon."

I understand that you have to be 18 to buy a shotgun or rifle. But what is the legal age to buy a handgun?

If a handgun actually shot 12 gauge shotgun shells, you would have some incredible dispersal. Does anyone make such a gun? If not, then why not?

yes, i bought a shotgun in Pa. it was no problem, just filled out some information, the dealer made a call..walked out with my side/side in less than oh?..20 minutes..
..and the next day nailed a nice gobbler!
i was, though not allowed to buy a handgun since my residence..driver’s liscence etc. is floridian. i am now in florida, a remote area, i will tell you (everglades).
i am a resident of florida, and wish to purchase a hand gun before (as it is seeming) the obama goverenment makes it nearly impossible. My son lives in N.J. works for the u.s. dept. of defense even ..as a munitions engineer..and wow..he had to take tests, fill forms,, wait 5 days..a real pain!!! Anyone know? is it a big hassle in florida to buy a hand gun?..and like what things will i need to do?
also, any advice as to what would be a good choice of gun for home protection and perhaps doing some small game hunting..
thanx!!!

Maybe denied a handgun because of a misdemeanor that is not domestic violence or something like that or because the laws are more strict or any other possible reasons. i went to some web sites that were given to me here but i want to read what other people say.

My cousin is planning a Mountain Lion Hunting trip. He has a guy with a pack of dogs trained for hunting lions, taking him. He’s not sure what caliber gun he needs for the hunt. The guns he has are….
Remington and Marlin 22lr (We both agree that these guns would never do on a trip like this.)
Smith & Wesson .40 semi-auto handgun. (He’s thinking of taking this gun only as a back up.)
Ruger Hawkeye .204 bolt action rifle with a Leupold scope.
Remington 710 .300 Win. Mag. with 3-9×40 Bushnell scope.
Benelli Nova 12 gauge pump shotgun.
Which one of these guns would do for his trip? Or does he need another caliber gun for the hunt?
James S : You have been reported, don’t insult me or anyone else. By the way, its NOT illegal to hunt moutiain lions. Get your facts straight before you answer a question.
I should state that we live in Nevada, Where it is LEGAL to hunt mountain lions.
Forgot to mention, my cousin also has a Winchester Model 94 Ranger .30-30 lever action.

I’m not a collector but have a philosophy that a good handgun and a shotgun in the house are a pretty good start to home protection.
That said, I have a CZ 75 as my night stand protection and CURRENTLY a mossberg 500 shotgun. The Mossberg is fine but I’m a gun snob and there’s an ad for decent deal on the Benelli Nova.
Two questions.
Would you agree that if you just owned a couple of guns for home protection that a solid 9mm and a shotgun would be wise?
I was thinking of selling the mossberg for 0 and spending another 0 for the Benelli. Just because it seems like a cooler gun. Worth it?
Opinions?

I was considering purchasing a shotgun, but I don’t want to have to go too far from my town. It’s much closer for me to go to the gun shop in Delaware. However, I have a Maryland driver’s license. Do I have to wait the same as if it was a handgun? Does it have to be transferred to a Maryland dealer?

Which one would you get-why. Or what do you have. I am looking also at Browning. I have the Benelli SBE 2 which I love, and a Kimber .45 ACP 1911 which is a incredible handgun for the money. I like to stay with quality names, especially when I have no complaints about either. All suggestions welcome. I am only considering the 300 win.

I know you have to be 21 to own a handgun but ive read somewhere that its unlawful for anyone under 16 to be in possession of a firearm so i was wondering how old you have to be to legally purchase and own a shotgun/rifle.

Hi I am moving to a home in las vegas, the are looks good but I want home security just incase. SHould I go with a shotgun or handgun? I either want the Taurus 24/7 PRO .45 ACP or the Mossberg 12 gauge shotty. ALso, if the shotty is a better choice, should I get the pistol grip? I would ofcourse take classes for training before firing the gun, thanks.

It is hard to get, but technically, in the US, someone could possibly get a federal permit for an assault rifle at 18. That same 18 year old could buy a shotgun or hunting rifle, but they couldn’t buy a 22. pistol, or any other handgun. Isn’t that strange?
