April 5th, 2011 by eranio

My husband just bought me a 12GA 28" remington pump shotgun. Although, I love shooting, fishing, and other outdoor activities I am truly a girly girl at heart. I am looking for the perfect pink camo soft gun case. Any suggestions where I could find one?

Tikka T3 or Remington 700?

March 20th, 2011 by eranio

I cannot decide which to buy i originally had my heart set on the T3 but i thought about it a little bit and i am so pleased with the quality of my Remington 870 shotgun that i figured why not get another remington. I only have one thing i don’t like on either gun. With the remington the trigger pull is almost impossible to change where as the Tikka you have one screw and your done. But on the tikka i dont like the bolt handle being drilled out and all. i think it looks like its not quit finished where as with the Remington it has a nice textured bolt handle. i also cannot decide on what scope to get for either rifle. A Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x-40mm or the Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x-40mm or the Bushnell Elite 3200 5-15x-40mm. I have been using Nikon products for many years and they have outstanding quality where as Bushnell has just in the near past stepped up on their quality. the scopes are all in the 0-0 range. I LOVE Bushnell’s Multi-X reticle but the Nikon Nikoplex reticle falls a litte short for me. Thank You!!!

Article about home defense loads for a shotgun.?

April 30th, 2010 by eranio

Oops, sorry for posting this help article twice. I accidentally deleted this one instead of the one I meant to get rid of lol. So, here it is again for those of you that didn’t have a chance to read it the first time around

Here is a cool little article about the different loads you can use for home defense and the pros and cons of each.

Just figured I’d help out those of you not sure about what to load your home protection shotguns with.
Enjoy!

This is a link for the shotgun loads for personal defense:

http://www.firearmstactical.com/briefs10.htm

And this is the link to the page it came from, its mainly to do with personal defense loadings for different types of firearms. Now you will know exactly what works the best in each of your personal defense firearms!

Eferrel, you have to take into consideration that these #’s more than likely came from ballistics gel testing. Now 5" of penatration on the gel is probably only equal to about 1" or 2" on a human torso due to the heavy bones that cover the heart and lung area ( rib cage)

Also they weren’t talking about something to kill someone a couple minutes later, they wanted absolute drop in your tracks stopping power, which I would consider to be about 3" through the rib cage.

Best Shotgun to Get For ME?

March 9th, 2010 by eranio

Iv been wanting to get a shotgun now for a long time to go along with my s&w 9ve. people have been telling me that i should definitly get a semi auto but i have had my heart and eye on the mossberg 500 security/hunting combo. most places around me though wont have it in until closer to fall. So i ask all of you, whats your opinion? do i listen and get a semi auto or do i stick with what i have found so far and get the mossberg pump? By the way the gun would be used for defense/small game/fun shooting.
thanks in advance!

I live in the country w 1ac. gardens + 11 acres woods. How to trap rabbits w/o use of shotgun?

February 20th, 2010 by eranio

It’s March and the rabbits have already had their 1st brood. They are cute but destructive little creatures. I have a HAV-A-Heart trap. How can I capture them and relocate them to a buddies house?
