I’m looking for a good barrel mounted system for my Mossberg 500 shotgun. I’m new to the "tactical mounting" thing, so i was wondering what were some good barrel mounts to hold a flashlight. Like if there are any kits with the mount (rather it’s picatinny or not) and a flashlight, or a barrel mounted flashlight holder that can hold a variety of different flashlights. Thank you very much in advance
@ Max
I’m from the states, i can buy one. I just don’t know where or what kind i should get.
I use a mossberg 500 shotgun with a 28 inch vent rib barrel with a modified choke. i use federal field and target 2 3/4 inch #6 steel shot. is this a good setup for prairie chicken shooting and crow, and how big will my pellet spread be at about 30 yards?
i also have a box of winchester super double X 3" magnum copperplated lead #4 shot. would this be worth the hefty recoil?
i’m turnin 18 in a couple weeks and was going to purchase a mossberg 500 shotgun, but heard that you must be 21 to buy a pistol grip installed one. so i was just wondering which mossberg 500 model doesn’t have a pistol grip installed
hi, im looking into buying a Mossberg 500 shotgun sometime soon, and i need some help…. i was thinking about getting the 12 ga. model, however, i started to think more and more about getting the 20 ga. when this past weekend i went out shooting skeet and shot about 75-100 shells through a 20. and my should was somewhat sore, and i thought if i get a 12 it would be too much recoil. now i don’t know which gauge to buy. i would mostly be shooting skeet, hunting small game/ possibly birds, and probably deer eventually. which gauge should i get, 12 or 20 and why??? please help
by the way… i am 15 years old and about 120 lbs. im not sure of my height, probably around 5′… 5-6" tall.
thank you all for your answers. i was just wondering because i don’t know how much a recoil pad would work, but i am now pretty sure i will get the 12. also when i go hunting squirrel and such i have a single shot 20 ga if carrying around a 12 gets to be too much work. thanks again.
I currently have a Mossberg 500 shotgun with two barrels. A 28" field barrel and a 24" slug barrel. It is basically new and has about 120 field loads through the gun. I want to pick up a synthetic Remington 870 field shotgun 12 gauge for a replacement. I realize I will probably loose a few bucks but I really would like to try the 870. Are the new 870′s still good quality? I heard they also absorb more recoil due to their receiver being made of steel. Thanks for the help. How much should I ask for my mossy do you think? Thanks.
I recently purchased a mossberg 500 shotgun and went to load it for the first time. The round tube will only accept qty 2 of 2-3/4" shells. Im no dummy so I hope its not me… on shell goes in fine, second goes in fine, and 3rd simply stops after I depressing in the other two shells maybe 1/2". Anyone have any quick fixes?
Its something to do with the shell tube… even knowing it cant be anything else… I still disassembled it down to nothing and reassembled it, and action works fine, it chambers and ejects the two shells I could load just fine too…
I’m not a collector but have a philosophy that a good handgun and a shotgun in the house are a pretty good start to home protection.
That said, I have a CZ 75 as my night stand protection and CURRENTLY a mossberg 500 shotgun. The Mossberg is fine but I’m a gun snob and there’s an ad for decent deal on the Benelli Nova.
Two questions.
Would you agree that if you just owned a couple of guns for home protection that a solid 9mm and a shotgun would be wise?
I was thinking of selling the mossberg for 0 and spending another 0 for the Benelli. Just because it seems like a cooler gun. Worth it?
Hello, I have a mossberg 500 shotgun with a slug barrel. I’m going to use if for deer hunting. What are some useful or nice accessories should I purchase for this gun?
Also how does a sling fit on this gun? Were does it hook up and what kind of sling should I get? What other accessories are available?
Hi, I bought a new mossberg 500 shotgun from big 5, its the synthetic combo 500 pump action. I see that the barell does not have threads at the muzzle for interchangeable chokes, but the barell is stamped modified barell, what does this mean? Also, can I fire the cheap federal 100pack shells?
I have a mossberg 500 shotgun and I want to try firing some slugs in it. Can I fire slugs in this gun or do I need to change the barrel? What are the best slugs to use for hunting deer?
I want a nice short barrel for my Mossberg 500 shotgun, the only 18.5 barrels I can find have no iron sights and my shotgun from the 1970′s so it can’t mount a scope or Eotech sight . Is there any 18-20” barrels with iron sights or provisions for mounting a scope ?
I have a mossberg 500 shotgun. I am a big deer hunter with a little budget. I was wondering if a rifled barrel can shoot rifled slugs? I know most barrels out there cost like 160 bucks and up. I found this barrel at walmart and it comes with a scope http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mossberg-Barrel-Scope-Combo-For-20-guage-500-Shotguns/4956490 Would it be a good barrel to use with any kind of rifled slugs? It looks like I can get a different scope if that one dosen’t fit me.
Thanks

I live in Louisville KY and I want to purchase a Mossberg 500 shotgun + ammo. What is the best place to go to?
Wow Hugh, thanks for your incredibly smart reply. I admire your IQ.
I’m asking for specific names of gun stores in the area, dumbass.
I plan on purchasing a new barrel for my Mossberg 500 shotgun, and the barrel says that it has " Vent Ribbing". Can someone easily explain what this means ?
I want to own a Mossberg 500 Shotgun for self-defence, i know that i have to be 18 and with no criminal history. But do i need a permit or something, so it could legaly be in my home?
I bought a mossberg 500 shotgun with a 20inch barrel which I really enjoy. I get outshot by a friend at varmits that our 15-20 yards out of my range. I miss and he kills it. Its not my aim btw. Can I put another choke on it or do I have to put a longer barrel? thx
It says its a "cylinder bore" choke. This is the gun.
to learn about the pro's and con's of each as well as the biggest mistake all the "heavy artillery" guys make when choosing "terminator ammo"!
