I just went to the knob creek machingun shoot this last weekend. I decided that in April i want to compete in the shotgun match. My shotgun is a mossberg 500. 12guage, 5 in the tube and 1 in the barrel. Do you think i can do any good with this gun, or does it hold to few rounds?

hi there I bought a mossberg 500 12 ga the other day and should be recieving it shortly. My question is what is the length of the mossberg 500 with a 28” barrel and with a 18.5” barrel. it also needs to be a big enough bag so I can store my ammo, and stock because i will be switching out between a stock and a pistol grip on my shotgun so I would like to carry both. suggestions please?

I already own a Benelli Supernova tactical pistol grip, but I got my eye on other shotguns. Like a Mossberg 500 or 590, A Benelli M4 Super 90 or Convertable auto M3. Like my other two question this would be used in a S.H.T.F situation. Prepper opinions please. I have noticed that nobody has answered the second part of these questions. what is the cheapest they go for? What shotguns would you use?

Do they sell barrels shorter than 18” for a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500? Can you legally buy a barrel that short so you dont have to ruin the choke buy sawing off the barrel?
I read somewhere if you saw off a barrel it widens the patten of the shot even at close ranges.

I bought a mossberg 500 and just want to shoot it. No target practice, range or hunting, I just want to blast some rounds off.

Ok I have a mossberg maverick model 88 12 Gauge. It looks exactly like the mossberg 500 except that it has the black synthetic plastic stock and fore grip/slider pump, and that makes it look kinda cheap. So I need to know, will a factory wood stock and fore grip/slider pump off of a mossberg 500 fit on my mossberg maverick model 88 ??? Thanks !

i was thinking about buying a pistol grip mossberg 500 for home pretection but not sure how they are. have anyone had any experience with them? hows the recoil compared to a regualar shotgun? how accurate are they? is it better to buy a folding stock or a forend for the pistol grip? how accurate is it with just the forend with original stock and vice versa with folding stock?

The way I read the laws, they only consider it a sawed off shotgun if it does not meet the legal measurement for length. I have a large piece of property with a pretty bad snake problem. I have an old beat-up mossberg 500, I want it as short as possible, cheap as possible, but still legal. thanks for any help.

I’m OIC for an upcoming shotgun range and would like to include a couple breaching obstacles. I’m doing research for it and all publications refer to the Mossberg 500 or 590. Is it safe to perform a doorknob and/ or hinge breach with the Winchester 1200? Also what is the probability of pellets ricocheting back onto the firer?

I live in Los Angeles, and the concrete jungles prove to be a little threatning. I own a mossberg 500 but I want to purchase non lethal rounds for it, just in case a situation arises, I don’t want to kill the person, just incapacitate him/her.

Last year my father bought me my first gun (I was 16 then, first time hunting). He bought me a Mossberg 500 pump-action 20 guage shotgun from our local Dick’s sporting goods store for around 0. when I opened it up it came with the regular barrel and a bird barrel. Also it had a scope on top that came with it. I shot my first buck with that gun and i am planning on keeping it for a long time but my uncle recently bought the same gun and his only came with 1 barrel and no scope. So I was wondering did anyone get the same one as me? It is just a little stock scope that has a see through yellow lens cover with it. Anyone who has this plz tell me.

I’m thinking about getting a new/ good condition shotgun over the Summer, shotguns are the one thing me and my father don’t have many of, maybe only 3 or more, the ones I know of are a double barrel break action 20 gauge, a long barreled goose 12 gauge and one other which I’ve forgotten what it was. So I’ve decided by the end of Summer I should pick one up. I want something for just walking around in the woods, maybe home defense and SHTF "hey, you never know" I want a pump action, synthetic stock to start with, 12 gauge shotgun, I’ve looked at the Mossberg 500 and Rem 870 and I know there’s a lot of debates over them, and I’m not asking for that, just what you guys think of them, I want something to that has a lot of capacity, I’m not much of a shotgun man so I know every little about models, I also want one with out an internal choke so I can shoot slugs out of it, but possibly an adapter at the end to install one. And if any of you could give me almost a full review of any guns that might suit my needs would be amazing. Sorry if anything may sound novice level but like I said, I’m not a shotgun man, I just learned how a choke worked a few days ago. Thanks. Price isn’t a major deal but let’s try to keep it as low as possible.
I looked on Gunbroker and it looks like I’d be paying from 0-0 for a Mossberg 500
Yes I know this question has been brought up so much, too bad, but I’m not asking Vs of the two, just your thoughts and/or any other models, I’m not asking for self def so relax, but a high cab, pump action, reliable shotgun.
With as much capacity as I can possibly get out of a pump action, tube feed shotgun.
I think I’m leaning towards the Mossberg 500 or 590, but ammo’s a b!@#$ so I’ll have to find the best deal I can.

I’m going to sell an M1 Carbine (new model Auto Ordnance) and pick up a shotgun. I only want 2 guns. I have a CZ 75 P-01 9mm and I want one rifle which I probably won’t use very much, just to have stored in case of emergency.
I can sell the m1 for around 0. I was thinking of getting either a Mossberg 500 or the remington 870 as a shotgun to keep in the closet.
I don’t want anything fancy, just a solid, utility gun.
What do you recommend? Either of these? I figure I could pick one up for 0. Any need to spend more? That way I can put the rest of the cash from the m1 back in the bank. The m1 is great but it’s just a plinker.

I live in colorado and bought a mossberg 500. It had a plug in the barrel to limit it to only hold 2 shells. If i took this out what would happen if i got cought. Why do the limit it to only 2 shells?

I was thinking either a mossberg 500 12 gauge shotgun, or a glock 17 9 mm hanndgun pistol, any suggestions? ALso, incase someone broke in, would a shotgun be the smarter choice? When my dad comes by my house, I do want to take the weapon to the range too. thanks.

I want a Shotgun for home security and target practicing. I’ve got my eye out on a Mossberg 500 or the Maverick 88 Home security. I also have my eye on a Remington 870; their price is pretty high.
Thanks in Advance.
