I have been looking into getting a 12 gauge shotgun for home defense. I want to say this was on a mossberg 500 tactcal shotgun i saw. They had it on a 6 shot capacity and a 9 shot capacity. Almost certain it was called a speed feed. In the picture it shows that you can store i beleive it was 4 extra shotgun shells in the handle frame of the shutgun just in front of i guess it would be the stock. Sorry dont know much about shotguns so probably just making these terms up. If anyone understands what i am talking about and can please explain to me how the speed feed works. Is it just a storage area to hold the extra shells? Or is that where it feeds the shells up into the shotgun? I am confused because it says there are 6 and 9 shot capacity. Is that including the extra shells in the speed feed or is it 6 and 9 shot capacity for the stock plus what you have in the speed feed?
use the link.

Its the one in the 2nd row from the top 4 from the left its the mossberg. 590A1

I’m going to buy a shotgun soon and i was wondering how much the Mossberg 590a1 spx 12 gauge 9 shot with the 20” heavy walled barrel, metal trigger guard & safety button, black synthetic stock, picatinny rail, and the lpa ghost ring sights cost.

I’ve been looking for a long time to find a Mossberg 590a1 SPX 12ga. pump action shotgun like this one
http://www.theammosource.com/images/Mossberg590A1SPXBayonet.jpg
Of course I don’t need the bayonet with it but I’ll take it if it’s there.
I used to see these guns for sale fairly frequently on gunbroker.com but at the time I didn’t have the money, now that I have the money I can’t find them anywhere. Just for the record, yes, I am very set on this specific gun as a "sh*t hits the fan gun"

I’m trying to make a small gallery of guns to show how guns work, so if possible I’d like to know as many dimensions of guns like barrel diameter and such. (I’m using autodesk inventor) Right now I’m doing a Mossberg 590A1 and later I’ll be making a Remington 700 and maybe make an animation to switch out the barrel and action with a .50 BMG adapted barrel & action. I need help please. Thank you

I picked up 4 boxes of Remington rifled shotgun slugs yesterday and I’m noticing the overall length is a bit smaller than the buckshot loads I normally fire. Both the buckshot and slugs were marked on the box as 2/3 inch shells, so why are the slugs a bit smaller overall? Will they work fine in my Mossberg 590A1?
I’m not new, I’m just used to my shells being the length they’re maked on the box to be.
I’ve got Sellier and Bellot buckshot, and it’s a bit longer.
Thanks Metro, as long as it works. How do I pick your answer as best? I’m new to yahoo answers.

Which is a better gun? I know both are rugged and will always fire, and both have had military contracts. I’ve heard of people’s Mossberg 590A1′s action locking up, and that is exactly what you don’t want in a home defense shotgun. Personal Experience would help a lot. Thanks guys.

Im getting either remington or mossberg, I know its chevy/ford. anyways wondering which one would go better with a pistol grip (ill probably get the knoxx collapsible stock combo). I Like the mossberg setup with a regular stock because the safety and slide release are easily accessible but that changes with the pistol grip. If you have any experiences with either or both please let me know how you feel about it.
Im either going with the mossberg 590a1 or a similar remington. Im just wondering which one’s controls feel better with the pistol grip.

How important all these features to you for a tactical shotgun and why, please?
1) Semi vs Pump Action
2) Ghost rings
3) Folding Stock
4) Pistol grip
5) Muzzle Break
I’ve got up to 0 to work with, to buy and accessorize my shotgun. I’m torn between the saiga 12, a mossberg 590A1, remington 1100 tac-4, mossberg 930 road blocker!
