I recently received a Mossberg 500 410ga. from a friend. When i got this shotgun it was in need of a thourough cleaning so like i have done countless times with my other firearms i set it on my table and got my cleaning kit, and tools out. It was not completely foreign to me this being my first mossberg shotgun but it definitely wasn’t as simple as my Rem. 870. After removing the barrel, forearm, firing pin, lift, and other parts i noticed a couple pieces that had fallen out after i removed a screw. I had never seen pieces like these but i didn’t worry about them very much. After i had cleaned each part of the gun i began to reassemble it, I didn’t realize until the gun was reassembled that the two pieces which fell out were still on the table. I have no idea what these are for but i do know where they go. They came from inside the shell ejection port and were held in by a screw. what i don’t know however is how they are supposed to fit in there. One is smaller than the other and i don’t know which one goes on top and which goes on the bottom. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I want a 30-06 and as I am a student it is listed at a good price. Anybody have any experience with it. I will likely start off using just iron sights if that will give a little more clarification. I have a mossberg shotgun, but I know nothing about their rifles.
it does have iron sights in certain variations of it, but not on the first bunch listed.

I am wanting to purchase a Mossberg shotgun at a gunshow tomorrow, and am really liking the Cruiser models, except they come in 12 gauge. I was wondering how you can convert, if possible, a shotgun from 12 to 20 gauge. I know that you convert the barrels on handguns to allow for this, but did not know if that would be the case with shotguns.
Also, if you really want to help me, you can tell me if Mossberg does make the Cruiser in a 20 gauge. The reason I like them is because they are small, sleek, and especially like the pump-strap.
I am wanting to get a shotgun my girlfriend will feel comfortable using, and the 12 is too powerful for that. The 20 will do MORE than the required job of self-defense, and be my play toy when I want to add stuff to it.
Garret…you CAN convert a gun. Glock’s are the easiest guns to convert as you only need to change the barrel. I know this because I HAVE ONE to do it!
I just didn’t know if the same could be done with a shotty…

It is a Mossberg shotgun, but it has 500AG on it. I want to get a slug barrel for it but I’m not sure if 500 and 500AG are different.

The Mossberg is 145 dollars cheaper and it shoots 3.5" while Remington is 3"
Mossberg=6 capacity
Remington=5 capacity
Mossberg is camo
Remington is not
Mossberg shotgun barrel is 1" longer than Remingtons
Mossberg slug barrel is 7" longer than the remingtons 21"!!!
I like Remington but I dont understand why its more expensive and the gun is’nt as powerful and barrels are shorter and its not even camo. Also less capacity… What do you guys think…I just hope wal mart can order this for me…

I bought a Maverick by Mossberg Shotgun recently with screw in chokes (full and Improved Cylinder). I would also like to take it deer hunting. A Few people have said that its ok with the improved cylinder choke but very bad with any other choke. I just need to know if i can shoot slugs using the improved Cylinder choke or if i need a separate barrel.

I’m interested in purchasing a Mossberg shotgun, but am not sure of the differences between these 2 weapons. No matter what what model I go with, the barrel will be 20 inches. I will be bringing this to my remote home where it will be used for home defense and must also be capable of stopping large wildlife (i.e. bears inhabit region).
