Why would a shotgun have its barrel blocked?

January 16th, 2011 by eranio

I saw a shotgun that appeared to have the end of the barrel closed off. Just inside the muzzle there was something across the barrel, with a dimple in the middle, almost like that back of a shell.

Does anyone know what that was?

Was it a real gun? (I was not sure)

Thanks for any answers.

mossberg 500, modified choke?

January 8th, 2011 by eranio

Hi, I bought a new mossberg 500 shotgun from big 5, its the synthetic combo 500 pump action. I see that the barell does not have threads at the muzzle for interchangeable chokes, but the barell is stamped modified barell, what does this mean? Also, can I fire the cheap federal 100pack shells?

Can anyone fix my shotgun barrel?

January 26th, 2010 by eranio

I have a Belgium Browning Auto-5 12ga. semi auto shotgun. A few years ago, I shot it and I didn’t realize there was a piece of dirt in the muzzle. Thus, the end of the barrel blew slightly apart. I don’t want to saw the damaged part off, and I don’t want to buy a new barrel. I don’t need it re-choked because I don’t plan on shooting it ever again. I just want it restored to look normal–if that’s possible. This gun means a lot to me because my deceased grandfather gave it to me. Can a machine/fabrication shop do this? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
mc, why dont you take off running and I’ll see how strait my shotgun will shoot….

Most important features for a tactical shotgun?

November 5th, 2009 by eranio

How important all these features to you for a tactical shotgun and why, please?
1) Semi vs Pump Action
2) Ghost rings
3) Folding Stock
4) Pistol grip
5) Muzzle Break

I’ve got up to 0 to work with, to buy and accessorize my shotgun. I’m torn between the saiga 12, a mossberg 590A1, remington 1100 tac-4, mossberg 930 road blocker!
