Hello. My neighbor really likes the Mossberg 590 shotgun and would like to purchase one for home defense. Now I personally would recommend a 500 Persuader, but he intent on buying a 590. I have some questions. Is it possible to affix Ghost Ring sights on the gun? Can you add a sling? And for the heck of it can you get a bayonet for it?

I want a Mossberg Tactical Persuader just like this for Home Defence and to drive around with in my truck but to be safe I came here first. I’m only 18 years old so I want to know if it’s legal for me to have this gun in my truck, If so can it be in Plain View? or must it be under a seat? If cops ever ask me do I have a weapon I want to be able to say Yes it’s under the seat, or for them to be able to see it laying right on the front seat. 5 star best answer.

where can I find a Multi shot airsoft gas or spring powered shotgun with Pistol grip and AR style Stock with shell holder on it(shell fed, not the mag fed ones) ? I’m not looking for the cruiser,Persuader and the Benelli style stock.

I have read the Mossberg vs. Remington debates and have seen local ads showing the pistol grip and regular Tactical Persuader both for under four hundred bucks. I’m debating over pistol grip, auto-loading, tactical stock, traditional stock, etc. Any suggestions?

I asked the question a while ago about the Mossberg 12ga. tactical persuader shotgun and the answers have pretty much got me very excited to purchase one. Now I’m just wondering in your personal opinion, how do you feel about shooting left-handed with a right-handed shotgun? While I have never tried this yet, I don’t believe that the shells will cause any distraction to me as they fly through my line of sight. The main concern is more along the lines of safety, what are the chances of receiving an injury to the face by a shell being ejected from the gun? I will of course be wearing eye protection at the range.. but in the event of a home invasion there isn’t much opportunity to throw on some safety glasses. The safety position on this particular gun is on the top so it operates the same for right and left-handed shooters.

I’ve never fired a shotgun before, and am looking to buy some soon. Two shotguns I liked were the Mossberg 500 Tactical Persuader, and the Mossberg 590 Special Purpose.
Any better shotguns you recommend?
Should I buy a 12 guage or 20 guage gun?
What shells will shoot through the wall and which shells won’t?
And what upgrades do you recommend for the shotgun?
Preferred in Black but will go for Olive Drab to. Nothing shiny that sticks out (ie. really silver).

I’m looking to buy a used shotgun- a Mossberg 500 Tactical Persuader- and the seller says it has had about 50 rounds fired from it. Is that alot to buy a used shotgun or is that going to affect the life of the shotgun at all? How many shots can a shotgun fire until it’s considered bad or old or unusable? Thanks!

Alright, so I just bought a mosberg 500 tactical persuader for 400 plus tax etc from a sporting store. I’ve never had a shotgun before, and I’m a total noob when it comes to shotguns. I have a few questions, first can someone simplify the ammunition? What is buck shot? Bird shot? etc etc. I know what a slug is, a solid projectile, but I don’t understand the difference between all the other ones.
Here is the ammunition I got, anyone know anything about this ammunition? I just grabbed a random one that said 12 guage on it, since I new my shotgun was 12 guage.

I just got the gun for shooting at the range for fun. I’m not even sure how to chamber these rounds yet. Also, does anyone know where to get blank ammo? Dummy ammo, that u can just use to load and unload for demonstration purposes?
