Ive been duck hunting for 5 years (since i was 8) and am considering buying my first shotgun. I will be using it for duck, turkey, pheasant, dove, and skeet. Im debating between a beneli nova remington 887 and a stevens 311. I will be hunting in sacramento valley so weather conditions will be mild. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, also if you know any cheap side by sides i would be great. thanks

I only know a little about shotguns. I want to know what the best shotgun is for deer and turkey hunting and trap shooting, but i also want a shot gun that i can shoot skeet, duck, geese, quail, pheasant, and raccoon. What shot gun would be the best for that, obviously pump action, but what gage? I want to know what gage. and if their is also a good brand.

Also i want a long barrel. Is their any shot gun that can do all of that or at least most of it, and if it cant do it all please tell me what it can do. I know i definitely need it to be able to kill deer and turkey

My wife’s cousin is getting ready to go on his first pheasant hunt over Thanksgiving weekend. What’s the best choice of a shotgun type for him? Single shot, double, pump, etc.?

I will be hunting mostly turkey and deer. Maybe some duck and pheasant. I will be getting a 12 gauge unless you would suggest otherwise. If you have any other suggestions for a gun in the 300-400 dollar price range, please tell me. Thanks

i got an over/under shotgun and was going to use it for pheasant hunting this upcoming season. will they gun work well?

I’m talking about waterfowl, pheasant, and pigeon hunting.

I live in Nj and just aquired my permit to purchase, one for shotgun and one for pistol. My question is I want to hunt for deer, turkey, pheasant, And some small game.My dilema is that I don’t want to own ten different guns. What would be my best all around choice? I can live with a slug gun and maybe one other gun.I have spoke to many dealers and friends alike and they kinda confuse me with al this interchangeable barrels and all that good stuff.I would love to just write down the name too two guns and go and buy them and start my practice.Any information will be put to good use.I think I just needed to get a broader opinion about this dilema thank you to all who respond…..

I am wanting to get into bird hunting (or wing shooting as it is called) I have a Remington .20 gauge, but I didn’t know if this was appropriate for pheasant or quail hunting. I was also not sure whether I needed a choke, and if so, what size.

I just purchased a Remington 870 Express. I won’t use it very much, so I only want to keep a single type of ammunition. I’ll mainly have the gun for home defense, but maybe occasionally use it for pheasant hunting or shooting clays. What is the most economical size/type of shot for 2 3/4" shells, which would be a fair compromise for all of my purposes?
Oh…it’s a 12 gauge in case you wondered.

I’ve heard various hunters say which gauge of shotgun is best to use when hunting pheasant.

I personally use a 12 gauge, but wanted others opinions on different shotgun gauges (16, 20, etc).

Thanks for your opinion!
