Can Mossberg 590A1 barrels be swapped for barrels with chokes?

December 30th, 2010 by eranio

I have a Mossberg 590A1 Special Purpose 12 gauge shotgun. It’s has a 20" barrel (cylinder bore), can other barrels with chokes be used with the 590A1 receiver? would it be as simple as taking off my original barrel and sliding on another one with lets say… an improved cylinder or light modified choke barrel?

Looking for a Mossberg 590a1 SPX shotgun for sale?

December 10th, 2010 by eranio

I’ve been looking for a long time to find a Mossberg 590a1 SPX 12ga. pump action shotgun like this one

http://www.theammosource.com/images/Mossberg590A1SPXBayonet.jpg

Of course I don’t need the bayonet with it but I’ll take it if it’s there.
I used to see these guns for sale fairly frequently on gunbroker.com but at the time I didn’t have the money, now that I have the money I can’t find them anywhere. Just for the record, yes, I am very set on this specific gun as a "sh*t hits the fan gun"

Any thoughts on the Remington 870 Marine Magnum shotgun?

October 18th, 2010 by eranio

I’m thinking of buying a shotgun for recreational/defense purposes, but I’m not crazy about the typical black and synthetic look most tactical shotguns have. I do like the silver appearance of the marine mag though. If you own a Marine Magnum or have shot one, please give me your thoughts and whether you would recommend one. Can it fire 2 3/4" and 3" shells only, or can it fire 3.5" super magnum shells as well? I don’t live on a boat but I do live right by the ocean if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for all your comments.

Modifying my mossberg 835 shotgun?

October 13th, 2010 by eranio

Okay i’m not really modifying it, but I currently have a mossberg 835 with a 24" turkey barrel. I would like a home defense gun, and was wondering if I could buy a shorter barrel for it. Of course I also want a longer barrel for sporting clay shooting.

Otherwise what is a good economically priced home defense shotgun that can handle heavy loads and is reliable.

Shotgun sights for remington 870?

October 4th, 2010 by eranio

I have a 30" trap barrel on my remington 870 and i was wondering if i would be able to just add some sort of sight adjustment to use it for hunting birds/turkeys and actually aim accurately without pointing lower than the target

Anyone familiar with a Remington .310 single barrel shotgun?

October 2nd, 2010 by eranio

It was made in Brazil. Says it’s a ".310 rimfire shell only". What i did find said they were made in Brazil in the 1960′s. Does the gun have any value? It is in the original box and looks quite new.

Cleaning my Mossberg 500 12 Gauge shotgun Barrel inside help?

September 25th, 2010 by eranio

Hi,

I really need some help and advice. I am pretty new to Shotguns. I have a 12 gauge that says 3/4" to 3" (inches) bore size for shells.

Does that mean i need to buy a 3/4" to 3" cleaning brush to clean the inside of my barrel and my Magazine Barrel?

I have alot of residue and even some paint inside the barrels that’s effecting the action.

Also if i use a brush inside the barrel do i have to put a cloth over it? I was just going to use the Hard Thistles on the brush by it’s self to clean the inside good. I just don’t know what to search for the right size brush.

Sorry for all these questions, But i really need help.

All answers appraeciated. Thanks alot,

Andrew.

My benelli shotgun kicks like a mule. I bought a primos tightwad choke for it, but it still kicks HARD?

September 12th, 2010 by eranio

I bought this gun to hunt turkey and I shoot 3" number 6′s. Man it kicks hard. It is a new gun and I am the first and only one to ever shoot it.
OK, I didn’t need to have any jerks answering my question. And yes I am more than man enough to shoot any gun I want. I have several and have been shooting guns for almost 40 years. I was asking for advice on recoil.

Who Makes The Better Waterfowl Gun-Benelli Or Beretta?

August 17th, 2010 by eranio

I have a Remington 870 that I love and use for trap and upland hunting. I want to start waterfowl hunting this upcoming season and am interested in an autoloader. I don’t "need" a new gun, but you know how it goes. I "want" one.

The two guns I see used a lot are Benelli’s and Beretta’s. In your opinion, who makes the better waterfowl gun? Which models have features that you like? Which ones are better at withstanding the abuse and harsh waterfowl conditions? How do these two compare to Remington autoloaders?

I know these are all good guns but I’d like to hear from people with experience with them. I’ve always been a Remington guy but I wouldn’t mind owning a Benelli.

Thanks for any comments.

Can someone identify this shotgun casing and give me some info?

August 12th, 2010 by eranio

Today I found an old spent shotgun shell, and decided to find out some stuff about it. The brass has "Western no. 12 Super X" printed on it, and after looking up the Super Xs online I found out they’re an old model of shotgun shell that are sold as collector’s items. The strange thing is that the original Super X’s all have cardboard tubes, and the one I have is plastic. Anyone know what it might be?

What is the cost of a brand new 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun?

July 19th, 2010 by eranio

I was looking in this ad for a shotgun and i found this gun. It is as listed above. a turkey model, army camo color, and a 24" barrel. I want to know what a brand new one would cost to see if i’m getting a good price for this one.
I’m sorry you guys keep saying wal-mart. Our walmart dosn’t sell guns anymore. :( So that’s not an option for me. I"m just wondering what an average one would cost.
