I know I would have to switch barrels but what one would you suggest the Remington 870 bone collector, or the Stoeger M2000, Do they both have barrels that I could switch?

Remington 870 vs. Benelli Nova. I would use it mostly for skeet and traps

I’ve been debating over this for about 2 weeks now. I am looking for my first shotgun and are stuck between the 870 and the nova. I read that the 870 rust easy. Is that true? Well, I don’t want to spend more than 400-500 on it. Both my cousins own the 870 and the other owns the benelli. They said that both guns are good but whats the difference? which do you prefer? The Remington 870 is 200.00 (in camo finish) and the benelli is 409.00 (also in camo) I will use it mainly for hunting doves, turkeys, and probably squirrels. which gun will be a better choice?
but i have heard that the remington 870 rust after just the first time out in the field? is that true? anyone experienced that before? I want it to last a long time so that I may pass it down to my kids too…

I have a Remington 870 Super Magnum " 23inch smooth barrel and mod choke " with only the bead sights. I don’t want to buy a Slug black barrel because it won’t match the camo on my Remington.
I know I can shoot rifled slugs, but with what accuracy would I have at 100 yards or would I just be throwing my money in the trash ?
I dont hunt deer, only duck, geese and turkey.
slugs are for target practice only

Do you think this gun is worth the better price compared to a Remington 870 shurshot shotgun for 279? The Weatherby is on sale at cabelas for 239 so do you think the bargain price is worth trying the Weatherby or stick with the well known Remington?

I would just like some opinions on which shotgun would be better for home defense.
Either a Stoeger Coach Gun or a Remington 870

I currently have a Mossberg 500 shotgun with two barrels. A 28" field barrel and a 24" slug barrel. It is basically new and has about 120 field loads through the gun. I want to pick up a synthetic Remington 870 field shotgun 12 gauge for a replacement. I realize I will probably loose a few bucks but I really would like to try the 870. Are the new 870′s still good quality? I heard they also absorb more recoil due to their receiver being made of steel. Thanks for the help. How much should I ask for my mossy do you think? Thanks.

I am currently shooting skeet and lost all my other chokes
I only have a full choke
Can I shoot my 20 gauge remington 870 pump with no choke in it???
Will it mess up the grooves in the barrel where the regular choke goes?

I just bought a new remington 870 with an 8 round capacity. it didn’t come with a plug, which sucks because I got it for piggin’. i’m not talking about something in a pinch, i want something that’s gonna feel right inside of MY firearm. i’ve heard something about dowels, but what size is best and how do you do it?
thanks for the quick response moosey.

I am pretty set on the Remington 870 edition, but I want to do two things, and only have one gun. I want a gun for home protection, and I also want to be able to go to the range and be able to shoot skeet. I talked to a guy at the local gun store and he said I should just buy two shotguns, but I don’t want to spend that much money. I know I can change out the barrels and only have one shotgun, but I am not sure how much that would cost. I want an 18" barrel for the house, and around a 28" barrel for the range. Also, this is my first gun, but I am pretty familiar with them.

I remember seeing a great package deal on a 12g shotty. It came with two barrels… One 18" for home defense and a second 26" for hunting, etc. It was either a Remington 870 or Mossberg 500 combo with a special name. Anyone familiar with this?

It’s a remington 870 I purchased about a year ago. I just purchased another shot gun and want to give the rem. 870 to my bro. He’s 23 so I don’t think age is a problem. Any info will help. Thanks.

So a side x side stoeger uplander or a remington 870 pump action? Does anyone feel the side by side is better than pump action or can you pump the shotgun just as fast to get a second shot in?

I’ve looking at buying a shotgun for under 0 and have narrowed my choices down to three. Which do you think is the most reliable and the which would be the best buy. Benelli Nova, Benelli Supernova, or Remington 870.

I really like the Remington 870 marine magnum. In all the reviews ive seen it is a great shotgun. What shotgun do you think would be the best choice for a person looking for a Remington 870. Also what ammo would be good for target shooting and home defense. Is its shells 2 3/4 and 3?
