I’m looking for a new Semi-auto (light-weight) shot gun that I can put a rifled barrel on and use as a slug gun.
I was looking around and found out Benelli’s semi-autos have an inertia system instead of a gas one. Does that system still use the recoil of the gun? How does it work different from the gas.
(and if you know of any good light-weight semi-auto slug guns please feel free to post any oppinions or info on that) (except Remingtons, I can’t stand em)
Josh, I love Winchester. I own an SX3. However Winchester doesn’t make a lightweight slug gun. And to buy a new barrel for a gun cots 0 with tax. I want something light weight.
I honestly don’t like pumps. They don’t feel very comfortable in my oppinion. They are either to long or two short. (maybe it’s just me)

Don’t really know much about guns, but am not completely stupid. Well, I have a Charles Daly 12 gauge field version semi-auto shotgun and I know it is chambered for 3 inch shells. My question is, if I get a 3 1/2 shells, will they perform better and will the 2 3/4 perform less better then the 3 inch? Also, can I even shoot 3 1/2 and 2 3/4 shells in my gun, or is it not recommended to shoot either, just 3? Also the shotgun holds 4 shells total, maybe 5, just haven’t tried to push it in with force, but do they have tube extenders for semi-autos, especially for charles daly? Hear they are hard to find if they have any because they are marketed under a different name but is this gun similar to any brands that could have accessories for this gun? Thanks to all the answers! Also I have a modified choke with a smooth bore, rifled slugs be good for this?

I would like a 12 gauge shotgun that is semi auto with a collapsible stock and pistol grip. I however am having issues locating such a thing. Most semi autos that I’ve seen have fixed stocks that I can’t tell if they could be changed out. Then I’ve seen a number of pump shot guns with collapsible stocks. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right places but are there many models out there with these features. Thanks!

I appreciate all help! But please refrain from making smart remarks as answers. If you don’t like guns, that is fine. I don’t need to know your opinion.
I am interested in purchasing a new or nearly new shotgun for skeet and sporting clays. I have borrowed both an o/u and semi-autos and I enjoy shooting both. At this point I am considering a Beretta 3901 or 391 or possibly an inexpensive o/u. I would like to keep the price in the 0 to 0 range. Suggestions on any online options or brick and mortar in Ohio or Indiana would be most appreciated. In this area we have Dick’s, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro as well as several locally own shops. I have checked them all out but still haven’t found the selection or pricing that I am looking for.
I am leaning toward a new gun since I do not think I could identify damage or wear on a used weapon.
