I have had the gun since 1969, my brother gave it to me as a birthday present and I used it for deer hunting in Maine. Have not used it since 1980. It was cleaned and put away until recently, I rediscovered it. It has a plain barrel and on the side it states that it accepts 2 3/4 shell or shorter.Thanks for your time… Phil H.

i have a mossberg 590 tactical. just recently i noticed the shells were staying stuck in the mag and not being chambered. so i can only shoot what i load directly into the chamber. from what i can tell the cartidge stop is not flexing outward when i pull the forearm back raising the elevator to release a shell into the chamber. in fact the cartidge stop sticks out and makes it hard just to load shells. the shells rub on it and they just dont load smoothly. also when disassembling the gun, i have noticed the elevator doesnt want to come out without pushing one side inward and then pulling up. it is rubbing metal otherwise. its like its bent or there is a flaw somewhere. i was wondering if the elevator should smoothly slide up before pinching to release. my main thing overall is i wanted to know the relationship between the elevator and the cartidge stop because i feel like this is the problem. one or both of them. i am fairly new at this so if any of you know a lot about this your input would be great thanks

I’m torn between the two. I like the compactness and versatility of the Judge, but I heard it’s hard to find a 410 shell with a configuration good for takedown power. The Mossberg shotty takes up more room but you have takedown power and that click-clack shotgun sound that should soil some underwear.
I am looking for shotgun ammo just to use to get the feel for my new gun. I dont want to spend per shot just messing around. I am going to be shooting it through a Remington 870 express 3" chamber. Also i might want to use the ammo for rabbits which is kinda one of the reasons i bought the gun. I saw a box of Federal Game Shok its a #7 1/2 shot and 2 3/4 shell they are about 65 dollars with shipping and there is 250 rounds i didnt know if these would be complete crap or if i could use them for what i was going to do. Also i heard of some ammo jamming the 870 if anyone knows a specific brand or if Federal is one that jams the 870 please comment. Thanks
In mw2, when using the model 1887 shotgun dualwielding, it spins the shotgun to put th next shell in place. I just want to know is it possble to spin the shotgun and pull the lever so it loads the next shell?
Now, I want to make my own snap caps for my shotgun, I started with used shells, clean them remove the primer, paint the shell in orange( i use a nail polish) plug a hard rubber material on the primer place, and secure it with silicone. Everything is perfect, but i tough of filling the actual shell with something that is capable of absorbing the moisture. What I should use?
So i just got my gun and some cybergun 20 gram bbs and i tried the gun out. Most of the time the gun only shoots one bb at a time and when i take out the shell, the bbs that were supposed to have fired with the single bb, come out with the shell. Sometimes the gun doesnt even fire, and i need to pump the gun down at an angle to load in the bbs. If anyone has any advice it sure would be appreciated!
i am getting ready for feasant season and i was wondering what is the best amo that will work the best with my gun. my gun also hold the longer shell in it i dont know if that makes a big difference. also how do you get the plug out of my shotgun because im trying to get the plug out but i cant find it. thnx for your help
I like an auto because of the shell capacity. But the O/U is a really nice looking gun. This gun will be used mainly for Upland hunting over a pointer Which one is better.
How much should a Mossberg 590 cost… as long as I don’t mind the lack of a bayonet, would it be less expensive just to get an old hunting shotgun and change the stock, add a magazine extension and paint it?
This would primarily be a home defense shotgun.
What is reasonable to pay for a Mossberg 590 and a Mossberg 500…. both used and new prices for both if possible please.
One more qucik question about shotgun shells… could you reload a shell with pretty much random stuff if you lacked any shot? Similar to how they load cannons in movies with silverware and stuff when they run out of cannon balls. Can that be done with a shotgun?

it has silver inlay on the handle. one side is of pheasants and deer on the other side. it loads with 16 g. shell for the shotgun and 7 mm mauser bullets for the rifle. We are sure it is an antique, but haven’t had it appraised yet. can not find a patent number on the gun.
When i go turkey hunting i use a 12 gauge remington shotgun. Whenever i shoot the shell doesn’t eject and the barrel goes inside the chamber. I have oiled the gun and cleaned it properly. but it doesn’t fix it.
ok so im loking for a cheap$ 20- shotgun for my friends borthday in a couple weeks and airsplat has one and it comes with 4 shells which hold 14 rounds a peice. i have a winchester model 140 20 gauge semi auto shotgun, it’s suppose to be a 3 shot auto loader, but i can only put 1 shell into the barrel/chamber……and 1 into the magazine, when i try putting the 3rd one in the magazine it will go most of the way in, but not all the way…..what’s the reason for this…..and also when i try ejecting the shells, the one in the barrel comes out fine, but the other one gets jammed like half way between the ejection port and the magazine, it goes all cock-eyed and wont come out…thats the best way to put it…hope someone can help.
I asked the question a while ago about the Mossberg 12ga. tactical persuader shotgun and the answers have pretty much got me very excited to purchase one. Now I’m just wondering in your personal opinion, how do you feel about shooting left-handed with a right-handed shotgun? While I have never tried this yet, I don’t believe that the shells will cause any distraction to me as they fly through my line of sight. The main concern is more along the lines of safety, what are the chances of receiving an injury to the face by a shell being ejected from the gun? I will of course be wearing eye protection at the range.. but in the event of a home invasion there isn’t much opportunity to throw on some safety glasses. The safety position on this particular gun is on the top so it operates the same for right and left-handed shooters.
Be creative for nerf releases from 2010 to 2011, surely I’d like to see a rev-12 and the spartan come out, hopefully the spartan will have some type of semi auto fire, creatively I’d like to see some type of tactical shotgun with a shell in clip system, and/or maybe a super longshot with dart shells and a clip.
