I’m getting in to skeet or clay target shooting and thinking about trying to get in some competitions or something. i currently have a 12guage Remington 870 pump-action shotgun. All the people Ive seen in the competitions have used the over and under shotguns. i was wondering if there’s a regulation as to what type of shotgun is required to be used in the competitions?
Thanks,

I hate the damn thing! I use shotguns for skeet shooting ok. Every time I go to the gun range to skeet shoot The damn thing, without a doubt always screws up on me and the fired shell does not eject! Would it be worth it to trade it in to a store like gander mountain or should i just keep it?

The benelli super nova or the benelli nova. I want to use them for bird hunting and maybe some skeet every once in a while. The birds I will be hunting are turkey, dove, and clay pigeon ha ha. So which one is better is the super nova worth the extra money?

hi, im looking into buying a Mossberg 500 shotgun sometime soon, and i need some help…. i was thinking about getting the 12 ga. model, however, i started to think more and more about getting the 20 ga. when this past weekend i went out shooting skeet and shot about 75-100 shells through a 20. and my should was somewhat sore, and i thought if i get a 12 it would be too much recoil. now i don’t know which gauge to buy. i would mostly be shooting skeet, hunting small game/ possibly birds, and probably deer eventually. which gauge should i get, 12 or 20 and why??? please help
by the way… i am 15 years old and about 120 lbs. im not sure of my height, probably around 5′… 5-6" tall.
thank you all for your answers. i was just wondering because i don’t know how much a recoil pad would work, but i am now pretty sure i will get the 12. also when i go hunting squirrel and such i have a single shot 20 ga if carrying around a 12 gets to be too much work. thanks again.

I am currently shooting skeet and lost all my other chokes
I only have a full choke
Can I shoot my 20 gauge remington 870 pump with no choke in it???
Will it mess up the grooves in the barrel where the regular choke goes?

I am pretty set on the Remington 870 edition, but I want to do two things, and only have one gun. I want a gun for home protection, and I also want to be able to go to the range and be able to shoot skeet. I talked to a guy at the local gun store and he said I should just buy two shotguns, but I don’t want to spend that much money. I know I can change out the barrels and only have one shotgun, but I am not sure how much that would cost. I want an 18" barrel for the house, and around a 28" barrel for the range. Also, this is my first gun, but I am pretty familiar with them.

At the time being i have 1 over under 12 gauge shotgun and 1 pump action 12 gauge shotgun. I want to buy another soon but im not sure if i should buy another shotgun (more precisely a 12 gauge semi automatic), or a rifle (either a .22 or a .17 HMR). I skeet shoot (and hunt) with my shotgun every now and then, but because of the cost i thought about buying a rifle and since .22 and .17 are dirt cheap, i thought about that. I would like to try target practice, but im not sure how long i can go on that without being bored. Please give me your opinions.

I am currently in the market for a new o/u shotgun to be used strictly for trap/sporting clays/skeet. I am interested in buying a nice gun that will last a lifetime and need some help. I have seen some combo kits on cheaper guns that comes with 12 and 20 gauge barrels. That would be ideal but im not sure how reliable those are. Im looking for something short 26-28" barrel probably. Any help on this issue would be very much appreciated

Hello, I have a over-under Armsport Shotgun. The model is 2734 short the barrel is 12g. 16′ SK SK short. I was wondering if anyone know much about these guns? Im looking to maybe sell it for a better sport skeet gun but I don’t know if it would be worth it.

What about a Remington 870 Express Tactical Shotgun?
I’m also intersted in possibly shooting skeet with this gun . . . is that asking too much?

I am looking to buy a 12 gauge to hunt duck and shoot. I don’t want to spend a lot. How long of a barrel do I need to skeet and hunt, can I buy a gun that holds more than 3 shells and still hunt, is the mossberg 590 good for both?

MY DAD BOUGHT A WINGMASTER IN THE LATE SEVENTIES AND ITS BEEN HUNTED, TRAP & SKEET AND ALL YOU COULD DO WITH A SHOTGUN….IT STILL LOOKS BEAUTIFUL, WORKS LIKE A DREAM, AND FEELS LIKE QUALITY USA ART
THIS WILL BE MY PURCHASE
http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/shotguns/model-870/model-870-express-super-mag-combo.aspx
IVE BEEN LOOKING AT THE MOSSBERG COMBE TOO, BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME THIS COMBO ONLY A SINGLE RAIL (I CANT SEE IN ANY OF THE PICTURES TO DISPROVE IT NOR PROVE IT)
THEY ARE ALMOST IDENTICAL, BUT FROM YOUTUBE VIDEOS I SEE THE TRIGGER GUARDS ARENT METAL SO THE TRIGER-GUARD-MECH ISNT ONE PIECE LIKE THE REMINGTON (NOT 2 PINS AND RELEASED
)

ILL MOST LIKLEY BE GOING WITH THE EXPRESS, IT IS JUST SOMETHING I LIKE, BUTT MAYBE SOME CAN GIVE ME SOME FACTS ON THE MOSSBERG, AND CHANGE MY MIND
ALSO, THIS WILL BE MY GUN FOR A LONG TIME!!!!! LIKE TILL IM OLD (SO ALSO LOOKING FOR QUALITY POINTERS AS WELL)

I have a benelli Nova pump that came with a IC skeet choke, a modified, and a full choke tube. With the IC skeet being widest, can it shoot slugs? I was considering finding a rifled choke tube, but my local stores only carry 12ga. I have fired some Federal hyper velocity through it and got some great 4inch groups at 30yards just using the IC skeet tube.
Yes, I have tried winchester super X, I don’t remember the exact load, but all of them key holed in a 9inch group. I also just bought some winchester rifled slugs to test.

I recently bought a Remington 870 and have been shooting it without a choke… I mostly use it for skeet and trap… but then my friend told me I have to get a choke for it or I could mess my barrel up… is this true and if so what kind of choke should I buy…
