i have been looking at getting a shotgun for home defense. I do not hunt so i dont see myself getting the combo kits. I heard that the tacticle ones even with shorter barrells you can still be pretty accurate with skeet shooting. So i was wondering what should i spend this on? remington 870 tacticle 7 shoot? moosburg 500? 500 just in case? or benelli supernova (dont think i spelled that right) i heard pardner brand is not that great. Really leaning towards the 870. Just looking for other inputs. I was reading the reviews on the 500′s and some people stated they had problems with the barrell rusting but i thought mossburg was supposed to make great shotguns so i was thinking that was the owner not taking care of the gun. Looking to spend 0 at the most.

I’ve always asked myself should I buy a shotgun for hunting and skeet shooting? One problem is my family can be short tempered. I’m never short tempered except my my 2 older sisters and my parents. I live in Illinois. Also if I have a gun in my house and if anybody tries to steal my gun for a stupid reason, what should I do?

I am looking to buy a shotgun to go hunting for the first time this fall/winter. I would like something that I could use for just about any of the game that is hunted here in Iowa (deer, pheasant, duck, turkey). I would also like to be able to use it to go skeet shooting. Not looking to spend too much money. I am a 25 yo male (if that makes a difference).
Not looking for a youth gun…just something good for someone new to hunting

I am looking to buy a nice shotgun for under 0.
I am really impressed with Benelli’s technology and the aesthetic appeal of their guns but I was wondering if I should get either a Nova pump or a Supernova pump action or if I should get a pump Remington 870 Express?
I basically want something for turkey hunting and skeet shooting as well as home defense. Can you help?

Hi , im looking to buy a shotgun for my boyfriend. I am pretty clueless as to which to buy. i know i want it to be 12 guage and side by side barrels..however i dont want to spend a fotune either but i want the gun to be accurate… he definitely doesnt do a lot of hunting but he likes to shot it like skeet shooting etc. is there anything i should know before i buy? any suggestions about brands etc.
I probably should have mentioned hes already got both a remington 870 and and mossberg 500 so its funny that those are he two guns you are reccomending.

I am looking for something to do some recreational skeet shooting, but that also has the ability to do some duck and maybe some quail and pheasant hunting. I was looking at the Remington 870 Express. Would that be a good choice?

Ok well I imagine that the longer the more accurate but I’m getting a shotgun for my birthday which is a few days away, and I am hoping to get a mossberg since it’s about all I could afford. But anyways I wanna use it for skeet shooting so is there a specific length that everyone uses to shoot skeet or will any length do?

I have 6 areas of land and my wife bought me a shotgun with which to do some skeet shooting (on the property). I have never owned a gun before and don’t want to get arrested the first time I shoot a few clay pigeons. So, it is not a question of buying a gun, not a question of carrying a gun, and not a question of a hand gun. Do I need some federal gun license?

I just got around 0 from selling my college textbooks, so I’m interested in buying a shotgun for home defense and maybe a bit of skeet shooting. Is there any good value shotguns for beginners? Any advice would also be welcome, thanks.

both are 12 gauge pump shotguns, the remington 870 express is 0 new, and the winchester 1300 is 0 used (very good shape) I will be using it for dove hunting and skeet shooting, which one is better?

I have a Remington 870 Express Magnum and I was wanting to purchase a second barrel for it. I want to get an 18" barrel. I don’t want to cut down the one I already have because I would like to keep that one skeet shooting. I looked on Remington’s website and they have barrels but they are like 0.00 +. Does anybody know where I can get them cheaper than that? Maybe around 0.

I have been practicing skeet shooting the last month and love it. I am planning to buy a shotgun some time this year. I am looking for something that can moonlight as hunting/skeet shooting/ home defense. Any insight on gauge and make (sxs, o/u, semi, or pump). I am probably leaning to Remington over Mossberg; Beretta is too rich for my blood. I would like to stay under 0 if possible.
Also I have shot with 20 gauge and 12 gauge, but not noticed a strong kick either way. I have heard both have a stronger recoil. Your thoughts?

My buddies and I went shooting today, and after skeet shooting for a while we decided to set up a poor man’s tactical course. If I’m just standing there I can hit my target pretty well with my pistol, but it’s SO much harder to hit your target when you’re moving from place to place and trying to be quick. We were using our pistols and 12 gauges. Reloading the pistol is a piece of cake obviously, but reloading the 12 is so hard when you’re "under pressure."
So how do I learn to load the 12 gauge faster? Is there a certain stance I should be using when shooting pistol/shotgun? Anything else I should know about the sport? I’m right handed and right eye dominant, if that helps. It was just a lot of fun and I want to get better at it. Thanks
Oh yeah, I have no money to pay for any kind of classes
