i am looking for a great new or used 20 gauge shotgun that i can purchase under 0. i have researched the mossberg 500 all purpose 20 gauge, but it is 8 new and i don’t think i will have enough to buy that. i will most likely be using it for birds and small game around my house ( i live on 6 acres)
i want one that is pump action too!

hi, im looking into buying a Mossberg 500 shotgun sometime soon, and i need some help…. i was thinking about getting the 12 ga. model, however, i started to think more and more about getting the 20 ga. when this past weekend i went out shooting skeet and shot about 75-100 shells through a 20. and my should was somewhat sore, and i thought if i get a 12 it would be too much recoil. now i don’t know which gauge to buy. i would mostly be shooting skeet, hunting small game/ possibly birds, and probably deer eventually. which gauge should i get, 12 or 20 and why??? please help
by the way… i am 15 years old and about 120 lbs. im not sure of my height, probably around 5′… 5-6" tall.
thank you all for your answers. i was just wondering because i don’t know how much a recoil pad would work, but i am now pretty sure i will get the 12. also when i go hunting squirrel and such i have a single shot 20 ga if carrying around a 12 gets to be too much work. thanks again.

I have a Remington 870 express magnum for small game and bird hunting but in ohio were a shotgun only state.I was thinking about purchasing a fully rifled barrel with rifle sights for deer hunting.What kind of accuracy can I expect to get at 100 yards with sabot slugs?

My 870 remington shotgun recently broke on me and ive been thinking of the idea of hunting small game with handguns. How practical that is? Im not sure. I reside in the state of Kansas and I know its legal to hunt with handguns. If anyone knows or hunts with handguns, what do you use and whats the best handgun to use? I still prefer a shotgun over anything, but like I said. Im pondering this idea.

for christmas i got a 150 dollar Cabelas gift card. i also have about 250 dollars. so for around 400 dollars what shotgun should i get? i want a pump or semi auto that has easy to find accessories like barrels and stuff. i want it for shooting crows and squirrels and other small game. Ive been looking at a mossberg 500, a Remington 870 and a Winchester black shadow. other suggestions for semi autos or other pumps would be nice!

Iv been wanting to get a shotgun now for a long time to go along with my s&w 9ve. people have been telling me that i should definitly get a semi auto but i have had my heart and eye on the mossberg 500 security/hunting combo. most places around me though wont have it in until closer to fall. So i ask all of you, whats your opinion? do i listen and get a semi auto or do i stick with what i have found so far and get the mossberg pump? By the way the gun would be used for defense/small game/fun shooting.

I’m going to buy another BP double barrel muzzle loader shotgun can you suggest one? Under 00 is what I am thinking. Chrome bore a plus as is long barrels, not looking for a coach gun. Will be used for waterfowl and small game.

I live in Nj and just aquired my permit to purchase,one for shotgun and one for pistol.My question is I want to hunt for deer,turkey,pheasant, And some small game.My dilema is that I don’t want to own ten different guns.What would be my best all around choice? I can live with a slug gun and maybe one other gun.I have spoke to many dealers and friends alike and they kinda confuse me with al this interchangeable barrels and all that good stuff.I would love to just write down the name too two guns and go and buy them and start my practice.Any information will be put to good use.I think I just needed to get a broader opinion about this dilema thank you to all who respond…..

I am a new hunter and I am looking for a good 20 gauge shotgun. I am so confused about what type and brand to get. I am looking for a shotgun for all types of shooting…like target, deer hunting, small game, etc. Also can you use rifled slugs, and other loads in any shotgun? Should i get a mossberg 500 or a mossberg 535? I will be hunting birds (doves.phesant.exc), deer, squirrel, and some other small game. I want the combo because of the rifled deer barrel. I want a 12 gauge. i have a 20 and a 16 already. Anyone ever shot both or have both? help me out!
I was leaning towards the 500 anyway. But 3.5 shells are those the ones that are like 8.00 a box? I would like to also turkey hunt.
how much is an 870 express combo. How much is a Mossberg 500 or 535 combo? I have been told that 870 are better but, the Mossbergs are LOTS lighter.
